Glad it helped! But credit where credit is due, @Caomhin is the one who solved it.

I have the same issue. I am an owner of OnePlus 9 Pro for 6 days and I have this issue from day 1. I tried a lot of suggestions on the internet and none of them worked. This is my first OnePlus phone, so I did not transfer any data. It is becoming frustrating for me to deal with such a basic thing on a high end phone. It is not some low or mid range phone and as a consumer I expect that a 1000€ phone can alert me when I get a new mail. This is basic stuff. Why is it not a priority to fix this issue? Are people that have this problem rare, or do they just don't care?
Today I tried the: "Go to Settings > Apps & notifications > see all apps > select three dots > Reset app preferences. Then reboot."
Will update you for how long it works.

I am using a OP 9 pro. This is happening to me too. I tried everything available online but it only works for a while. The notifications stop coming after a few days. This is really frustrating as it is so basic. Has anyone found a permanent fix to the problem?

Me too, worked for a while, now it's stopped again and I'm missing important emails. Might have to move brand as, like others, OnePlus is getting worse and worse while asking for more and more. My 8T didn't have this problem and it's 1/2 the price

Same here. Very frustrating! Can we get some acknowledgment from OP about this issue? It's not the seeing we're using but the phone itself.

The tip that worked for me was uninstalling the Gmail app using ADB, then rebooting the phone, then reinstalling Gmail from the Google Play Store. After reinstalling Gmail, make sure to go into settings and set all of the notification options, and make sure that Battery Optimization is not on for the Gmail app. This has worked for me for more than a week now.
