Today I woke up and see that my phone has a new OS update so I press "install"...after the installation my phone was like a new brand...nothing there...I lost everything I just can recovery all the google security copy but I lost pictures, videos, configuration in my apps, etc...
I had the Android 11 beta 3 installed and received the Oxygen OS 11.0.1.1.IN11AA

have you any of you the same issue with the last update?

Anyway...the new version has some transition bewtween screens that gives sentation that it's go slowly...I m very disappointed

Same thing happened to me this morning. OnePlus 8 Pro with OxygenOS 11 Open Beta 3 updating to 11.0.1.1.IN11AA. This is just simply ridiculous and pathetic. How can an established company like OnePlus let an update like this get pushed to the masses? Where is your QA?

This has been reported internally (verfied by @dsmonteiro)

    Very bad issue indeed.

I have everything of importance backed up to Onedrive. I'm protected against sudden data loss of all kinds. Slightly higher disk of data loss on Beta could be a even higher need for use of backups though.

It's not all about Oneplus mistakes. It can be a fire. Theft. Drops and returning wiped after repairs. Water damage. Accidentally deleted files by yourself....
A important rule I have. Never ever rely on one source of storage of data if the data is not replaceable. Never!

Stuff that should not happen happens. A data loss is always a data loss regardless of who you can blame it on.

of course, backups are important, but this is obviously a mistake by OnePlus. There was no warning whatsoever...
There is a difference in data loss because of theft, damage or obviously badly written software...

Yes. But my point is that lost data is lost data regardless.
In this case it was a big oopsie done by OnePlus. Apperently it also caused 11 stable EU firmware to flash NA firmware. Good thing it is halted.

I received the update about an hour ago automatically, just pressed one button - rebooted my phone and my whole phone was wiped. Good job @ OnePlus.

This happened to me yesterday as well. I was on the latest open beta 3 and got a push notification for a new update available. I figured that it had to be the stable version of OxygenOs 11. I got excited, downloaded, installed it right away and lost over 1500 photos and videos, access to my 2FA-Keys and my online banking. Now I know that it was my fault for not realising that I was running on beta, I didn't even think about it. But a slight hint or warning that I am about to do a factory reset on my phone would have been nice. Additionally I shouldn't even have received the update notification, since my device was in the beta channel.

I'm up and running again for now, but this could have been prevented so easily... I definitely learned my lesson.
Atleast OnePlus' software department recognized the issue and responded quickly to prevent further damages.

Hello, it says the app is not compatible with my device... But I can't confirm the compatibility before the update.

This is rare but yes it can be deleted. You need to create a backup of your profile in Cloud or Drive before updating. Updates come universally. So there's a chance work profile may be deleted.
