Really disappointing as I had a non 5g 7Pro running on Verizon with zero issues. Moved to TMobile and traded to the McLaren and battery nightmare. I hope this is not how things general roll with TMobile ?!?

it's not, I had the 7 Pro before this and had excellent battery life. The issue is isolated to this phone.

Hello everyone, since some of us have trouble managing our batteries, I think buying a battery would be a good idea, what do you think!:)

thx. I turned off the 5g for now and battery life did improve somewhat. hope they release a fix soon as I am a huge one plus fan and would hate to have to change that opinion.

Je pense que nous devrions avoir une batterie de rechange en cas de surchauffe

Anyone receive and update yet? Hows everyone's battery been lately?

no update, battery life still sucks... lol. my Galaxy S10s received their Jan update already which is quick by Samsung standards... here's to hoping a smaller company with less devices can provides updates just as fast...

I'm still at 10.0.5 and had no issues. I manage to use my 7t pro Mclaren for three days (don't shut it down at night, only in Plane Mode), mainly browsing, social network apps, no gaming. WIFi, data (4G) and bluetooth allways on. I'm really happy on this.
I believe that the issues related here, especialy about battery draining, might be related to the more recent software update. I haven't recieve any OTA. At support page there's the 10.0.6, but I'm going to wait as I believe that the next update will solve all the problems related here.
I don't know if possible, but anyone tried to go back to 10.0.5 and see if the battery drain problem persists? Just an idea...

Mine doesnt heat up, but if I leave 5g on battery dies in 8 hours with almost no use. If I turn off 5g it lasts over a day. Also hoping that someone else is noticing that it silences it's ringtone and notifications completely on its own every day. I need to manually unmute the speaker in the settings to get it back on, and then a few hours later it is silenced again.

Even though the OnePlus 7 Pro has a big, 4,000mAh battery, we haven’t been impressed by its stamina. With battery life and overheating, much depends on how you use your phone. You have to accept that long gaming sessions with graphically intensive games are going to use up a lot of power and generate a lot of heat. People are discussing their experiences in this OnePlus forum thread, and not everyone is happy.

    Workarounds:

    • Start with our general guide on how to save battery life on your smartphone for some ideas.
    • The display is going to be your big power drain, so consider heading into Settings > Display and drop the screen timeout in Sleep, set Ambient Display off or to only come on when you tap the screen, and consider dropping the screen resolution and refresh rate.
    • Consider picking up one of our favorite portable chargers to top your OnePlus 7 Pro up when you need to.
    • Take a look in Settings > Battery > View Detailed Usage and look for a problem app that’s draining too much power.
    • Make sure that you uninstall any apps or games that you aren’t using.
    • Go to Settings > Battery > Battery Saver and configure when you want it to turn on.

If you have to do any of that then this phone has failed. My S10+ is old now and I had it since launch and it's battery is still much better than this phone. I've never had to do any of the suggestions listed. I've also tested reducing the display frequency to 60 but that didn't help much. I'm not doing anything different using my Galaxy vs my McLaren. The same exact apps are installed, the same background tasks are running. I'm not getting any more notifications than usual.

There's just no excuse. This phone's battery life at launch sucks. End of story. We're just hoping it'll get better with updates but so far no updates beyond the first one. Some have suggested that, anecdotally, it could be the first update and it may be but there's no way to downgrade so that doesn't help the majority of us. Haven't heard a peep publicly from either Tmo or OnePlus so that's telling...

TMobile and OnePlus are brain dead on Twitter. neither one will reply. I might go to the 7T as at least the GPS works. I ran enough tests which show 4G LTE is faster than 5G. Tests taken in the same spot and both shows 5 bars of signal.

I have had the opposite with 5G I've had much faster speeds on 5G than LTE now only about 20 to 25% faster. I had my phone won't see on LTE Auto resolution and 90 Hertz refresh rate. now I'm getting a roughly a good day but still only around 2 and 1/2 to 3 hours screen on time. I believe they should we should be in update soon. but you can always just keep calling T-Mobile.

I downloaded Ampere to monitor my charging speed. My phone is at 47% and it says it charges with 4840 mA. Is this normal? Shouldn't it be higher? The temperature is 34,2 degrees Celcius.

I also saw that Ampere says the capacity of the battery is 4080mAh. The phone has a 4085mAh battery, right? I saw other posts stating even less capacity like 3300mAh, same problem on the 7T. How is this possible?

3690.8 for me. I did set the capacity manually but that messes up with the battery health. This is a band new phone and I'm at 90% health. My almost 1 yr old S10+ is at 93% using the same app.
