You guys just show some images about the SOT or give few information about how the phone is actually used. If you have problems with battery or some anormal drain, the best is to show the app list to know specifically which app or setting is draining the most.

Also the Google Wellbeing panel is useful to see the app behaviour.

    ;)

It worked for me. Other users have already written that they deactivated it and it made no difference.
You can try it, maybe it will help.

Yeah, that would give more info. Here is my usage:

There is no app using too much battery. Even Duo was only used for 20 minutes. No Motion Smoothing, No Vivid Video. FHD+ at 120 Hz. Yet, the screen-on time is less than 3.5 hours at 35% battery.

This is amazingly bad battery life, considering my S20 would easily have a SOT of 5-6 hours at 35%

From your screenshots I can see 2 things:

    1) Your Android System is way too high; usually this should be around 3%-4%, but it can gets a little bit higher if you have some wearable connected all the time. Otherwise, some app or setting is making the phone work on the background and that's why it doesn't show. Android System covers a lot of apps and configurations, so that's why you can't see anything weird on the battery graph.

    2) It seems you have no signal; this can lead to the phone to be looking where to connect (even if it's connected to WiFi) and lead to heavy battery drain. Some phones don't care if you have signal or not as long as you have WiFi, but I'm not sure about this OP8 Pro.

Additionally, I would try to use the web version of Facebook, since is well known that it can drain up to 20% of your battery, even if is not in use.

    :)

Thanks for helping out so quickly, man! Appreciate it.

    1. No wearables are connected. Android System is still taking only 8% of the battery (as per the screenshot). That isn't a bad number for all the background apps. Unless this reading isn't accurate and all the background apps are taking up even more battery which isn't being able to be properly recorded?

    2. The 'X' next to the signal graph just shows that the LTE is not switched on. I have a pretty strong network connection at my place, so the phone doesn't take much juice trying to connect to one.

The suggestion about Facebook web version is great. I will disable the app.

None of the apps are gaming based or processor intensive ( and it's a 865, so shouldn't sweat either). The battery drain seems to large for just normal app usage.

With the changes to the "heat" management, has anyone noticed reduced GPU performance?

8 pro (10.5.11. IN11AA) - GPU benchmarks seems to be lower than before.

8 pro. Out of the box, Antutu score circa 570K, with GPU scores around 210K.

Tested today, on the above firmware, whilst phone was cool (first thing in the am), total score 537K, GPU 175K.

CPU scores neglibly different. Just GPU.

    Anyone seen similar?

Wonder if it's being managed for the heat?

And even if it is lower after somedays on antutu, it wont make a noticeable difference, in my opinion these benchmarks are kinda gimmicky

I have seen people bashing out the battery, but in my opinion, i think I've got an iphone 11 pro battery instead, its so amazing, atleast better that what someone would expect from oneplus 8 pro

my phone is heating while it's charging, given the fact that the background apps are removed, the network signal is available, the adaptar and cable are the given 30v warp charge cable, and using the transparent never settle case. it's a brand new phone I bought on 18 July, just 2 days ago.

Slight heating while charging isn't anything out of the ordinary. The temperature of the phone also depends on the ambient conditions. If the room is hot, or there is direct sunlight falling on the phone, it is bound to heat up more, especially while charging from the 0 to 60 percent, as that is the part of the charging cycle, where the maximum current is flowing into the phone, hence the most heat is generated.

Same here and my 8 Pro have been in for a repair for the overheating issue, however no change, phone still overheats when used outside in sunny conditions.
Also the last software update, which addresses the overheating issue, did not fix my problems with this phone.
Either I have to rma it again, or sell it and take the loss. Either way, I will NEVER purchase a OnePlus phone again.

Very common popup if you use the oneplus 8 pro in the sun for 5 minutes or so. For me okay I'm more a person that sits in the shade. But for sun lovers it's definitely a bad purchase.

I can't make a new thread on this forum for some reason. I have an issue with my OnePlus Pro 8. No matter how long I hold the power button, I never get the option to power it off. All I get is Google Assistant.
