    There is none LED.

So people use apps for the AOD showing notification and doing funky things - then cry about low battery life caused by AOD also always draining power...

Exactly! Thats my point.. I love how 8t handles processes... like fluent as ever.. if only the cooling system was better! It could have been the unparalleled beast!

Not about expectations... Its about flagship to have a decent cooling system..

Actually the temperature doesn't becomes the problem...what the problem really is..that it is persistent nd there should be something to nulyfy this.. through coming update... i think task manager or something can curb this thing..

Subarashi! Great response.. As expected of one plus community, I am starting getting hang of the 8t ... The thing is since the background processes doesn't closes ...the phone gets hotter .. If the process are stopped the phone stays 38 -40

The more powerful the chip is, the more heat :)
    Snapdragon 865 is really powerful!

That temperature might still be normal depening on your ambiant temperature. It also depends on what activity that is runningm
You can get a nice overview of temperatures and working freqency of the CPU via the app Devcheck.

Overly agressive CPU usage could indicate a elevated and abnormal background activity. Some apps may benefit from being put in optimize in battery settings (atleast if notifications are not important to get on the right time).
A other way to lower background activity could be to actually skipp installing some apps and use the Web app instead (sample from Firefox).

Other than a battery stat analyze you can also view the actual top CPU usage processes via an adb command. Sometimes a faulty unexpected process hiding behind Android System battery drain can be found this way.

My standard copy and paste info that includes some tools and the adb commands.

You can force manual background optimizing and view the actual CPU usage via ADB.
Background optimizing (adb shell) : cmd package bg-dexopt-job
CPU usage (adb shell) : top -m 10 (or a other number of your choosing).

    Got it!
But still i believe there's good scope in further updates as the oneplus developer themselves are working on this issue

All depends what and why it is consuming battery and causing heat. The OS should not kill background process that you actually want and apps needs to be optimized doing what they need while using the very least resources. So without know this I find it hard to know who to blame for the issues.
That I why I try to dig around and investigate a lot on what happens on my phone. Waiting on a kernel change myself...
