Please use this thread for any issues, questions, Screen on time (SOT), battery tips, and all things related to battery and heating of the OnePlus Nord .

Please note that the way you use the phone (daily usage scenarios and habits) will make a huge difference to the battery/heating performance. In a scenario where there is a heavy performance workload, such as photo shooting/video shooting/mobile gaming/video consumption, the power consumption and heating of the phone will increase accordingly, which is a normal phenomenon.

You are more than welcome to share any battery tips and tricks in the comment section and ask a forum moderator to pin your post on the first page of this thread.

Battery optimization never ends. To help OnePlus better resolve battery/heating-related issues, please submit a bug report via the Feedback Tool in the Community app. Thank you in advance.

    Hello guys,

I have got the Nord, but the battery life is awful! Screen on time is only about 4:00–4:30 hours (wiped cache, black theme, restricted Google Play on background, lowered animations from 1 to 0,5, and after 50 % of battery drain lowered screen refreshment frequency to 60 Hz)! I have played games only 10 minutes, and camera was on for 10 minutes too.

Battery charges extremely slow (30 minutes gives me like 40 %), and heats up pretty much (42–44°C).

Support told me to do hard reset.

How much screen on time do you have?

I have 4 hours and 10 minutes of screen on time with intensive gaming and watching videos and I still have 29% left with all the default settings including 90hz. I have all in dark mode and dark wallpaper. The charging time is pretty quick but be aware that there is an option that might put it slower "Optimized Charging" disable it and test the chage again I would suggest.

Charging takes more than two Hours... That's bad

Ye thats weird. I'm not sure how long mine takes to fully charge since I charge it at night but I've timed some percents and it takes less than 26 seconds to go up by one percent. So it makes sense with the 70% at 30 minutes claim.

I have 4hrs of screen on time with currently 30% left. No gaming or videos...just social media browsing. Charging also feels a little slow, 70% in just under 45mins (not accurately times though)

I have the exact same issue, downloaded accubattery and the battery drain is horrendous, my OnePlus 7 pro on max settings lasts longer, I have battery saver on 24/7 now and we'll see if that works, or I'll call OnePlus to claim warranty defects.

Apparently using 5g uses alot of battery. But battery saver makes no difference.

I contacted support regarding the phone and they gave me a fix that surprisingly worked, even though the phone is new.

it worked for me so I recommend you try it.

P.S. so far it has fixed the issue but may be a temporary fix.
P.P.S. they also offered a replacement, should the issue be found to be device specific.

    @Firas ejaz
Can you share some AccuBattery stats? What's your discharge rate? Thanks!
In addition, do you mind sharing the temperature of your battery during normal use?
    Thanks.

this is after stats, before was 40⁰ battery, and time remaining 2h, the time remaining is slowly increasing.

    Thank you!
So, aroud ~35-36C for the battery while normal/light use is normal right? Also the discharge rate seems the same.
I just wiped cache as you suggested, seems improved but i'll wait the full charge of tomorrow to see any big difference.
