Hello everyone I am new to OnePlus as I have always been a Samsung user. I jumped to OnePlus because of the reviews and specs of the 7 pro. I chose the OnePlus 7 Pro 5G due to the specs and future proofing of the 5G aspect. I then very quickly realised that the 5G variant seemed to be quite far behind the regular 7 and 7 Pro on updates. Then I found out that the 5G isn't part of the beta program for Android 10 which disappointed me. I just cannot get my head around how the flagship phone is forgotten about and lower phones get updates before the flagship. No other Manufacturer does this. Thought I would start a thread for all 5G owners to leave there review so that OnePlus can see we all feel like we are being forgotten about.

    Yup, it's a shambles

OnePlus have no direction it seems. we are constantly trying to get answers but it's nion impossible to get a response from them. no replies in the community forum. no actual legitimate response from customer service, no tweet back with an update... nothing. it's like they took our money and are now not giving a shit.

because of the lack of development on the 5g device we can't even boot custom ROMs without breaking radio. it's a ******* joke and to top it off they gave us an update the other day to passify us, but it's not inline with the LTE variant still.

Agreed I wish I had gone for the 4G device instead.

The 5G device rarely gets updates compared to the other models and has been excluded from the Android 10 open beta.

I also have 5G permanently disabled and get faster speeds and better battery life with it off.

Have contacted both OnePlus and EE and neither give a damn.

Welcome to the party pal! We have all been here and voiced our concerns to OnePlus. This has fallen on deaf ears and we just have to live with the fact that we pay a premium for a top tier device and we get treated less favourably. Seems to be the OnePlus philosophy

I won't be getting another OP device. whole reason I chose OnePlus is the flexibility, quickness...and availability to custom cook roms. The way 5G has been paraded,.you would think they would listen.

Is this the kind of support I can expect with my oneplus 7 pro 5g (sprint)?
Will it even run the latest version of oxygenos excluding android 10?

Has the same amount of notice as the OnePlus 2, totally regretted getting the 5G model, so returned it for this reason.

Won't be purchasing another OnePlus device.

Same as everyone above. I wish I'd never bothered with this device. Soon as the next Pixel launches, my OnePlus is going to be my new paper weight.

Oxygen OS Open Beta 2 now available for the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro.

Still absolutely nothing about the OnePlus 7 Pro 5G.

Manu and OnePlus just another quick reminder that you also have quite a few customers (for now) that bought your most expensive 5G model.

according to a recent post by Manu on the Android 10 release thread, the timing of the Android 10 release for the 5G model will be announced around the same time as the Oct 10 7T launch, so sounds like still several weeks away before we even find out when it'll be.
