Search for phone in your app drawer. Long press to go into settings, advanced, phone app, select the radio button.

    Alternatively uninstall true caller.

Switched from op 6 to 8t and found a couple of features missing.
    1- speak caller id.
2- auto call recording for unknown numbers.

Also recorded file is not visible anywhere in recorder app.
Call recording is now announced loudly so that the other person on call knows the call is being recorded.

Very very disappointed, missing the old UI.

Hi there, when you call a person and the answers is picked up , look for the recording option on second row, right most one. Click on it and you will be able to record the call.

Suggestion: To make restrictions on call recording option country specific: Today call recording has become very important part of data storage. For example when my client says something imp and I am in hurry so could not note it down, I would prefer recording it for future reference. However being professional I could not tell my client everytime that I am recording the call to avoid the mistakes and future reference (even though he might be knowing it on his own). So if call recording is an offence as per UAE law, you may disable such call recording option to devices used there. But in india you must make such options available to users. I spent 46k to buy one plus 8t, but now it is not even solving my purpose which I used to do it using 15k phone. It is very hard earned money. Kind consider the request on priority basis and your response to this feedback will be highly appreciated.

It is country specific. India has it the rest doesn't. All other rules of it's implementation are up to google since they made the regulations (and dialler) app used in the 8T.

Furthermore, as a professional myself I never felt to record a call. After a call I always send a follow-up mail to the customer confirming the points we discussed. This ensures that both parties are on the same page and can refer back to the points if needed. This is common practice in my company and we always recommend this to all piers in the company as well.

Recording a customer (with or without announcement) is often regarded as a very backwards way of doing things, and not letting the other party know they are being recorded might show you have alterior motives. I would only accept it in hotlines for call and support quality insurance.

In my opinion call recording should be confirmed by the other party, and not just informed.
