I read somewhere regarding battery issues and didn't believe untill I tested it on my device.
I ran CPU Z and in the battery health section Over Heat is shown every time I see.
And again when I ran a Battery Diagnose from Diagnose my device from OnePlus Care app it showed me FAULTY battery. Believe me I ran this Diagnose many time and the results were same. 👎

I am in Gujarat (temp avg 40°C) and recorded 8k for good 4 mins after the second update. The phone heated up slightly but handled itself, there was no excessive draining in the battery.

Turn on and off reverse wireless charging then check it will solve the problem. It's a bug OnePlus will fix it in future
It solved mine . Try it

Apps like these don't provide correct information on devices with a dual-battery setup
This has been answered before, please use search in the future

The battery capacity of the 9Pro is 4,500 mAh according to datasheet. :D

So is there any other way to determine the current battery capacity of the device?

What makes you think the official battery capacity is false?

On the 9 Series, I have seen multiple threads that mention exactly this: the status shows overheating when the temperature isn't actually much at all.
I'm not sure what is the cause of it, but imo you shouldn't be very worried until your device is above 45°C

Faulty reporting would not be a reason for worry.
The toggle on and off removed the overheat warning for me... But it's still just a false triggered warning.
