Please use this thread for any questions, SOT, tips, issues, and all things related to battery, heating, and charging of the OnePlus 9R.

Please note that the way you use the phone (daily usage scenarios and habits) will make a huge difference to the battery/heating performance. In a scenario where there is a heavy performance workload, such as photo shooting/video shooting/mobile gaming/video consumption, the power consumption and heating of the phone will increase accordingly, which is a normal phenomenon.

There are also many other factors that can affect battery and heat, even ambient air temperatures above 25°c+ can slow down charging or cause heat issues, as the air temperature gets hotter the phone cannot dissipate heat as quickly so may even slow the charging down as a safety measure as well.

You are more than welcome to share any battery and charging tips and tricks in the comment section and ask a forum moderator to pin your post on the first page of this thread.

Also, please do check the links below for suggestions on alleviating any battery, heat and charging issues. Along with more details on improving your experience with the OnePlus 9R.

I got a new OnePlus 9R. I just started using the phone. I am facing battery drain and heating issue. A new phone shouldn't be throwing these issues. Could you please look into it ASAP and come up with an update?

I've been using the new OnePlus 9R for almost a week & I have noticed few issues that needs to be sorted out.

    1. Phone is always feeling a little warm in hand even though I don't play any games on my phone.
    2. Phone heats up during charging
    3. Battery drain can be improved
    4. Split screen is simply not working.

Reset the Mobile Network adapter to see if it can alleviate the issue.

Settings, System, Reset Options, Reset WiFi Mobile Bluetooth.

Since almost everybody on the internet who has bought the OnePlus 9R is facing heating and battery issues, it will be better if OnePlus does thorough testing on their side and releases an appropriate OTA update. Not everyone can take the effort of generating logs and uploading them.

From what I can see, this seems to be an optimization issue from OnePlus's side; it's least dependent on the user or surroundings.

Is the heating issue on Oneplus 9R solved ?or we need to wait for being fixed. Is it a hardware problem or software can manage it ?

Does everyone face the heating issue on normal usage ?

Do you prefer 8T over 9R? or to wait for 9R to be fixed?

A slower charge is usually the result of battery heat or high battery drain while charging.
Is the battery hot for you?
Can of course be a defect cable or charger too.
