it's just 10 mins that I have unboxed one plus 6.

in just 10 mins it's heated and I can feel the warmth in my hands.

Is this a normal thing with oneplus or just happened to me ???

I was also facing issue like battery drain, sound bass not upto expectation, etc.

I did a download of 5.1.8 from support ->> download section.

saved it on root directory of storage ->> cleared cache from recovery >> installed 5.1.8 again with local upgrade (no factory reset done, no data loss) >> cleared cache again from recovery.

happy to say battery is back to normal after a charge cycle, sound in earphones is perfect as it was on 5.1.8, face unlock is quick again,

    give it a try.

    edited: to add the process

download file from OnePlus webiste, below is the link.

    Updating the link with 5.1.9

    https://downloads.oneplus.com/oneplus-6/oneplus_6_oxygenos_5.1.9/

    Step 1: download the file.
Step 2: move file from download folder to Storage > Internal Storage directory.
Step 3: Go to recovery and wipe cache (Search the forum in case you need help in reaching recovery).
    Step 4: Reboot the device.
Step 5: Go to settings > System Update.
Step 6: Select settings icon (top right corner).
    Step 7: Select local upgrade.
Step 8: Select the downloaded file and start the update.
Step 9: Follow the instructions and Reboot.
    Step 10: Repeat step 3.

for battery performance, some settings u can try, i can easily get a full day means min. 24 hrs. with 7-8 hrs. of screen on time. Really Guys, and yup, 5% battery is still remains.

    1. Use dark theme.
    2. Use battery Optimisation enable for all Apps.
    3. Use deep clear in Setting->Advanced->Recent App Management->Deep Clear.
    4. No extra UI App and can also use a dark wallpaper for both home and lock screen.
    5. Face Unlock-> I dont think of its much use, also not very secure. Its always run in background and eating Ram and battery, so u can also disable it.

Just try this guys, u can easily get 8 hrs. screen on time in full day Battery usage.

    I hope it might helps.

I've found a way to dramatically improve battery life on the OnePlus 6 by accident. As many of you know, battery life has gotten worse on 5.1.11 for many, including me. I've tried various methods including installing (Greenify), turning off certain features, etc.

Last Wednesday, I turned on Data Saver because my quota was almost due. Since then, I've noticed significant battery improvements. I've been observing just to make sure that the results I'm getting are consistent before making a claim, and it did. Standby battery usage is now a 1 to 2 percent drop as supposed to 9 to 10 percent at a time spend of 7 to 8 hours. Screen on time has also improved by more than an hour.

So for those struggling with battery life on 5.1.11, try this. A little disclaimer though, I can't guarantee this will work for you as well as it did for me cause you know, there's a lot of different factor that come into play when it comes to battery life.

    Hi @djarish,

I just moved your thread to OnePlus 6 General Support category.

It's normal that a smartphone gets warm to the touch when the processor is doing lots of tasks, like it happens during the setup. You can try installing an app that shows the CPU temperatures, like CPU-Z, if you want to be on the safe side.
