    Hello there,

I would like to ask you for help. I have bought my OP6 two weeks ago, immediately updated it after unboxing and cleared the cache (in recovery) as recommended. After that, first days of battery life were awesome (easily 6h of SOT).

But since about three days ago, out of nowhere, the battery started draining pretty fast. I have done absolutely nothing different than before this drain, no update, no format. It literally just started draining for absolutely no reason. I am also attaching my screenshot with the issue.

Google advises against it. On a proper AOSP ROM you don't have to

I'm actually developing for op2 and I once took my entire user base from 7.1.2 to 8.1.0 without them needing to wipe anything. All they had to do is flash the new build like any other rom and gapps (gapps are not preserved between version upgrades since backuptool has cases for this).

The problem with OOS is that it's heavily modified and deviating so much from AOSP that this seems to be required. However it might be the reboot and not the cache wipe that might be fixing the issue. There are quite a few users who almost never reboot their device and that reboot you do to wipe cache might be fixing the issue rather than the cache wipe fixing the issue

Ok thanks, I don't think you read the whole conversation,
App cache and system cache both are two different things, if the app starting given problem clearing the cache may help or uninstalling and reinstalling it or wait for next update
If the system is starting giving problem doing same things with system cache maybe helps
And if you uses OnePlus there was/is always one system update was/is there in every 3-4 months.
Restarting your phone is mostly solves the problem, but try to comment same thing on any thread people will abuse you, they think you are thinking them as idiot, and if you say clear the app cache and reboot your phone they immediately do it.

Again thanks, I'm noob and dumb, don't know how Android works :rolleyes:

Noob here too, but anupritaisno1 actually mentions that it probably doesn't help as much as we think and that it's likely just the reboot doing most of the work.

And no, I didn't read the whole conversation, so apologies if my reply seemed out of place. :)

No need for apologies mate, I think you are coming back here after long time
I'm dealing with those type of people and it's hard to help them, even anything happens suddenly to Snapchat/fb/insta apps they started blaming to OnePlus, don't give a damn about its global issue. like PUBG/ Asphalt 8 are notorious games, nobody knows their behavior, but still people blame everything to smartphones companies not to app developers
that's why I started ignoring things...
Stay for few days here you get to know everything.. :)

Sometimes when u don't use ur phone ,the estimation goes way beyond expectations. When u use it ,it changes its estimation. So when u get confused next time when u get short estimation at a higher percentage, just remember this post.Your battery is not faulty ,its just takes that u will use the phone at that rate .

Maybe your friend plays pubg on lower settings and it's normal that your phone heats but if it gets very hot then it is a problem.

    hi guys,

I played pubg for about 20 minutes and the battery temperature raised to about 43°C.

    Is it normal or excessive?

43°C isn't normal. It is quite close to maximum operational temperature threshold value.
