22h since last charge with ~5h screen on time. I think this is normal (yes it can be achieved better but heavily depends on what apps were run, because not just the screen, but also the apps processor usage may cause higher drainage). Don't forget, apps are gettng updated too, not just the OS, so it is possible that the app you frequently use now is more deamanding then before because it's latest updates.

What apps were in the top in the battery usage list?

Update the OnePlus launcher first from play store if not updated
Try going into Settings --> Apps --> Application List --> OnePlus Launcher --> Storage --> Clear cache and clear data. Reboot your phone. See if this fixes your problem.

@P1542911124708 It can actually affect the drain, quite a bit, a VPN is a pretty inefficient way to move data, as a rule. It can be several factors slower, with lots of retries, the whole bit, given that ALL your data is being redirected, at least twice, bidirectionally.

The same way as previous versions, if you mean the System Cache, it's in the recovery-screens (pre-boot).

If you mean the per-app cache, you now have to delete each one, one-by-one.

I'm not a big fan of clearing the cache (or any kind of factory reset, other than network-settings), unless you have a good indication this is the issue, because the system uses a LOT of battery to rebuild it, which isn't necessary, in most cases.

I noticed the big drain from the Launcher, too, do you have a lot of widgets?
If so, I'd make a list of them, and un-install them all, and then re-install, one-at-a-time, ideally one/day, so you can "catch" the one(s) that are really draining things fast.
Widgets that give constant social-app updates, for example, can use a LOT of data.

Sometimes figuring out "badly behaving apps/widgets" can be a patience-testing exercise, but it almost always works, this way.
The only other way to do this, faster, involves having root-level access. The current battery apps that "claim" to help you track this down, fail miserably on Android > 6 (Marshmallow), due to security fixes (by Google), regarding one app monitoring another, for power-use.

Hey guys, my phone experienced a huge battery drain today. Did a quick charge before work up to +/-80%. I looked two hours later and it was down to 8 after not touching the phone (see screenshot). is there anything wrong and can I fix it, or will it be a one time occurence?

Don't use the Community app to upload images, it never works. Use a browser.
