When was the last time you formatted after updating to Pie?

This is my battery statistics. How is it possible to be this bad? It will work out to just be over 4 hours SOT. People with OP3's with battery degradation get battery life like this.

I use a OnePlus 6. I found out that for every 1 hour of active use, such as using Netflix, my battery drains 9-10% . On standby for every hour, it drains about 1-5%. Before sleeping, battery was approximately 50% and after 6 hours during which I slept, it's 37% . Is this normal or is there anything wrong with my battery. Please help.

No, its not normal, it is the battery drain bug, that we are complaining in this post.
Please post in feedback section, so devs can see the problem is widespread

Never. Why should I format? It's a waste of time. It's not written anywhere that you should format after updating to Pie.

Well, that's the sole reason for your battery problems. It's highly recommended to format your phone after major version changes to avoid problems like this from happening.

Where exactly it's highly recommended? I see no mention of this practice whatsoever. It's a forum recommendation.
BTW, last evening I wiped cache from recovery and today it was like the problem was solved... 88% at noon with minimal usage... then, something pulled the plug in the sink, and now it's draining to the tune of 15% per hour.
I tried everything: wifi off, bluetooth off, location off, data off, airplane mode, 2nd sim off... nothing helps.
Further, the phone is a little warm around the camera, where it usually gets warm with usage.

Same,I think our problem is the same. Consumption in Idle...
Also the phone tends to get warm

Well, your case seems completely normal to me. 100 to 75% in 7 hours is the same discharge rate as 100 to 88 in 4 hours. You don't have that sudden "step" in the graph.

that happens with every phone when its under heavy load... did u expect some phone that would stay ice cold while playing one of the most cpu intensive games on a thin n light phone?

Take a moment to think about it.

3D games will cause your phone to heat up.
-Why? Because there's a lot going on in the processor.
-Should you be concerned? If it's greater than 50°C, it's probably damaging your battery, and the phone should probably be throttling itself to prevent this, but if it's not, you should try to fix it.
-What can you do about it? First, see if you can lower the graphics of the game from the settings of the app. After you do that, test your temperatures. If it's still getting too hot, try going to the settings of your phone and lowering the resolution of your display. If it's still overheating in your games, consider flashing a custom kernel and underclocking/undervolting your GPU just a little bit or even undervolting the CPU. (Never mind, don't mess with the voltage.)

Where did you copy-paste this from?

Undervolting a phone with EAS will increase battery drain as the energy profile will mismatch

GPU voltage control is not a thing on newer phones

    Hi,

I have been facing the same issue since the latest update on my OP6.
    1. Taking very long to get charged to 100%
    2. Battery is draining veryy fastly... Previously for my usage, battery used to long at least for 24 hrs, now it dropped to 8hrs!! That's too annoying! Charging my phone twice a day atleast! [e]1f623[/e]
    3. Phone is getting heated up badly while charging or using it continously for more than half an hour!

    Please find a solution soon!
