First, understand that the battery ratings are approximate and no battery ships with exactly the number of mAh that it's rated at.

Second, there is no magic way to measure this stuff. The phone kinds guesses at what the mAh of the battery reside based on the current voltage, projected decay rates and all sorts of other stuff. That's what ʾcalibrating' the battery does. It lets the OS know what voltages mean truly 100% (a full top off that you aren't supposed to do, which is not the same as leaving it on a charger ... charge forever, but don't "top off") and what voltage is all the way dead (which won't be 0 volts). So ... measurements are approximate.

Why charge to 80? Some say it prolongs the life of the battery. Well, if charging it to 100% every day leaves you with 80% of your battery in 3 years, isn't that better than having 80% of your battery left tomorrow because you only charged to 80%? Doesn't seem like a win to me!

Plus, I have better things to do than babysit my phone so I can take it off the charger. I just plug it in and go to sleep! However, I tend to use a slower charger at night. No sense in dash charging when I have all night - not that I think it would hurt it ... but doesn't hurt to charge slow for sure! That's why I wouldn't mind wireless charging. Less wear and tear on the USB port would be nice

thanks for your time and help, means alot!

    I have a problem with my ONEPLUS 6T 128gb 8gb,
The problem is that with about 40% BATTERY and less.
applications stop working and the phone resets,
unless I turn it off myself and turn it on, the phone still has problems with applications.
I do not know if it's the battery's fault or maybe something else.
I have the latest version of the system.
    What to do with this?

These apps are absolute garbage. Selinux does not allow apps to see how exactly the battery is being used so the app can only see as much data as any other app on android can

In fact these apps keep your phone CPU awake for longer just to perform their stupid "monitoring" task so keeping these installed will drain even more battery

Try charging the phone overnight, at least occasionally.

I want to know if 42 Celsius is ok when charging using dash charger because I read online that it should stay with 32-38 celsius when charging

There is a definite fast drainage in battery for the OP6T.

Initially I thought to give it some time after the update to calibrate properly, but now I see it's more imminent.

Tried calibrating too, manually charging overnight (by turning off) till 100% and then draining by normal usage for a day, but still end up having max ~4-5 hours of SOT.

For a 88% battery even showing it will last 12 hours is just a shame.

my phone's heating problem is incresing day by day in 6t.
even when I m attending phn call than if seems that my ear will get heated.

so kindly sugest me some reason so that phn could not be heated.

Hey all. About 2 weeks ago I bought the 6T. Its been great, but battery has been far from satisfactory. I've heard people getting over 8 hours of screen time on, and today I've gone only an hour and I'm already at 20%. Did I receive a lemon?

Google play has been sucking up services... but it shouldn't effect battery performance this drastically I'd think.
