was you able to downgrade and keep your data? or did you have to flash and go from fresh?

that's the only thing stopping me from downgrading is having to go through all the setup of things again.

You can downgrade and keep your data by just factory resetting the system instead of data wipe. But I would highly recommend making a backup to avoid any data loss.

but factory reset wipes all data. you sure you're thinking of the right thing here?

Sorry, I meant Rest System Settings. This will deleted all installed apps but data will be preserved.
    You also wipe cache.

I wouldn't ever recommend anyone to downgrade without a full data wipe, it's just asking for trouble.

Nothing is working right after the new system update. Social media sites randomly freeze and I'm forced to restart. Phone randomly does whatever it wants to, like opening apps I'm not wanting, closing apps and taking me back to the home screen whenever it wants to, changed a lot of my settings and when I try to change them back, there are no longer options to do that in my settings. Not to mention all the next stuff running in the background (which I can't find!) are draining my battery life, and I only get 1/3 of the life it used to have! I'm starting to think this update is designed to aggravate us and force us to upgrade to the newer phone models...just like Apple did with their update that nearly killed old iPhones and iPads. I'm NOT happy, and just want things to work like they were ... which was INCREDIBLE and I loved it!

I LOVE my OnePlus phones! But this update has so MANY BUGS it's rendered it useless to me, unless I can somehow roll it back to how it worked before. I don't understand how you can roll out a major OS update/ upgrade without complete testing on all existing OnePlus phones. If we'd been forewarned most of us would NEVER have installed this OS upgrade on the 3 series phones!

So? What do I do to fix all this?

Plug in your USB cable to laptop and phone, you will see 'charging this device via USB' in your notifications.
Tap on this and select 'USB Tethering'
Go to Hotspot on the phone and you can select 'USB Tethering'
If you don't see the first step give your phone a reboot.
    I hope this helps!

A lot of OP3 users who have updated to Pie are facing many issues including the random reboots which the phone is doing on it's own especially when it is plugged in to charge..
also the dash charge has become much slower & the annoying new "feature" where an incoming call requires password unlocking to answer the call..i mean c'mon it should be an option and not set by default and unchangeable..!!

Is there a solution yet for the bad performance issues? All apps are stuttering like hell since the ota update

The password unlock feature doesn't occur for me! If my phone gets an incoming call I can answer it without unlocking the phone. Maybe a factory reset may help solve some of the problems you are having.

After the update my op3t is very laggy it is lagging in games social media and even in general uses. is OnePlus purposely trying to ruin our devices so that we have to go for the newer one.
