    The fact the phone burned is something to investigate, whatever the circumstances were. It sure looks the battery caught fire, which shouldn’t happen under any “normal” circumstances. I haven’t been reading the last part of the story tbh and I’m not sure what it all means. (I guess it was about his Nord N100). I can’t tell where he got his OP8 from tbh and there is a lot of information that hasn’t got anything to do with what happened.

    If it had been me, knowing how CS in general works, I wouldn’t have taking it to CS either but I would have informed OnePlus directly, which he did. (Although I doubt if he knows)

    so yes, i was wondering a bit when I saw the first post didn’t think about it too much and still don’t as to me the fact the phone burned down and should be investigated before there should be talk of any reimbursement.

    fun fact for me is to see bug hunters jump in even after Adam Krisko already replied, that looks to me like they are doing themselves a disservice and is yet another example of which I have noticed and described before.

    I too think the battery was scratched, and reacted with the atmosphere. But I'm curious about the elaborate story of not taking it back to t mobile.

    Maybe she was, I don’t know but my best guess would be that Adam has got his phone number, so it would be better to contact him directly instead of posting in this thread. Now it just looks awkward like different people of OnePlus took up this case.

    as for not taking it back to T Mobile, I don’t know. I didn’t quite get that, like the fact his account was gone and so on. It shouldn’t be an issue to take it back to them, even if it’s half a year or a year later. I don’t really know US laws but if this would happen in Europe, you have a pretty strong case, even if warranty has passed.

    Depending on where I would have bought the phone, I’d either inform the retailer, if I trust their CS or would contact Oneplus directly. That’s a consideration though depending on the outcome you want.
