Didn't see anything mentioning color filter in logs on EU builds... Odd

It's true, they didn't mention the color filter. But it's definitely changed after the OS update.

Edit: photochrom didn't changed with this update! My apologies.

Thanks for the information! If possible, could you upload a photo of some plants or trees with the photochrome mode enabled?

Strange, it works now... I think depends on the light around the scenery. My bad.

The camera still uses surrounding light like any other camera. Wrong light and you get a different looking picture.

For me it was not lost, I still see through some plastics and the ceramic hob, exactly the same as before. Before posting I checked.
I suppose it will be a "fake" to fool people, but if not, check again with the filter on and good light.
This update for Europe, I don't think there is any distinction between different countries in Europe

I made a mistake, the Photochrom filter seems only to work with natural sunlight. The last photo that I shot was with artificial lighting.
Again, photochrom still works after 10.5.9.IN11BA :)

It also works in artificial light, but not all.

Night photo. With the normal kitchen light (led bulbs) it looks black, with the extractor hood light it looks transparent

I just bought the OnePlus 8 pro to realise now that there is a disabled camera , I paid my money for this , I hope you update the filter and enable it back rather than disabling it forever.

Bought the Chinese model? It should be temporary.

I find it's ironic to witness a company with claims to Never Settle quickly "settling" on disabling a paid-for function used by many. I am a creative artist and leveraged photochrome for work and inspiration, in fact was excited to have this phone in part because of this hardware.

Besides the fact that the 5mp sensor calls for close proximity to a subject to get a usable shot, it's the social hype (by uneducated Neanderthals claiming they got an x-ray feature built-in to their phones) that twisted the hand of OnePlus ... Boggles my mind!!!

Personally I feel let down by the very brand I revere as it folded to crowd thinkers that refuse to understand the tech.

Q: Do you know how the microwave works? Hmmm ...

Read the post again. This is only happening in China with HydrogenOS and is temporary. Every other country is fine.
