Exactly, it's gonna be an AMOLED display.
Bring it on, lolll. I honestly think you misinterpreted what Pete was saying.
For their sake I hope I'm wrong.
Fair point , but the production of AMOLED-displays has increased and should be fine by now (according to the amount of shipped phones coming with a notched AMOLED-display) .
I know, but it's still a good excuse to move to IPS.
With ears at the top now!!!
Please release 2 versions of the 6. One with, and one without the notch.
Your sales will tell you what path you should have taken rather than blindly copying a horrendous looking phone like the iPhone X.
This is more than great and I was hoping about it. Giving to the user the chance to choose which option fits more for him, is the best way to treat him in my opinion. With this, those who love notch will use it by default and those who doesn't like it, they can choose the plan b. Well done with this one. I am glad that is happening. Thanks for the update as well. Can't wait for the OnePlus 6 and what comes with it!
That is not HIDE, that is DIMINISH in a sloppy way, even so, inside the notification bar, you have an unused space that will not allow you to see more than 3 notifications.
The right thing to do would be to CANCEL that portion of the screen by making the entire notification bar go down 7 millimeters so that you can enjoy a notifications bar the width of the entire screen with the clock on the right as usual and the left clean and available for notification icons.
How are we supposed to read the Ticker text scroling notifications with the notch?
If we talk about notch, we say half-empty. If we say 2screen notches, we say half-full.
The device is already created. Too late to give users that decision.
It is a smaller notch than on the iPhone X... It's more of a copy of the Essential Ph-1 which started this notch trend...
And what sales? We don't know how well the device will sell.
I'm glad OnePlus seems to be listening to the
I just hope for this two options. And this is killer.
2: statusbar always on (amoled burn in protection on)
I can see the yellowing screens now.
F**k the notch!! You asked what ppl think about it and probably most have said they DO NOT WANT THE NOTCH!! Yet here you are trying to make excuses!! I wanted to get the next OnePlus, but now if any phone has a notch. I WILL NOT GET IT!! Google I hope your listening, nobody wants a notch!! If the new Pixel 3 has a notch. I will upgrade to a S9+ or Note 9(if it has no notch).
Don't care about notch.. Love amoled
Hopefully, 'black-out' does not mean simply don't show anything where all the icons would be, but additional showing a regular notification bar below that.
Let's teach OnePlus a lesson to follow innovation not Apple..
OnePlus has come to market to sell best smartphones at affordable price, after releasing 3 models, it is sprinting behind Apple so called innovation which is outdated.
Why did you added dual cameras to 1+ 5/5T where we can have better picture quality with single camera (like Google Pixel 2 or Samsung S8).
And now Notch, notch looks disgusting on a phone, and it is not as useful than a non-notch phone.
You lost your basic motto, now you are losing your loyal fanbase. Good Bye
'A future update' will give an option to 'black out' the notch.
Sorry... this should be on RELEASE.
The notch, that has blatantly been copied off the i-Phone X was NOT popular on that phone either...
So why the hell would you adopt it!?
This has backfired in your faces and you're struggling to backtrack.
Sorry... you've lost me as a fan now... you DONT listen to your customers as you would make it seem.
The Xiaomi Mi 7 is looking like a fantastic option now.
