pablofg1978 , Oct 13, 2019 : Apps are updated automatically from the google play store, furthermore, differents app from different developers does not necessarily need to have updates at the same time.
Intruder71 , Oct 13, 2019 : Never given it a thought and even if I had its not possible unless you plan on asking Google, as the play store is closed source
KeepTransisting , Oct 13, 2019 : Why not just update them all at once and save the headache? I'm struggling to find an actual reason for this
santosh251kumar , via OnePlus 5T , Oct 14, 2019 : I have exactly 250 apps installed on my phone currently and primarily run on mobile data. so setting auto update or updating all apps isn't an option for me. I currently have updates for 150 of the above 250. Thats main reason.
B_Wrath , Oct 14, 2019 : Disable auto updates in the play store settings, then go to individual apps you want and enable auto updates for them alone. For this, go to the app page on play store and click on three dots at top right and enable auto updates.
