Hello everyone, we are Schafer (@Schafer) and Nikolaus (@nmatheis), two Community Brand Ambassadors. This is the first in the series, “US Brand Ambassadors Discuss.” Today, we're going to share about some cool non-OnePlus tech finds that are circulating in the world today. So feel free to add any kind of technology you find cool in the comments below!

    Bose Frames

First on the list of cool tech finds is the Bose Frames. For those of you that don’t know, Bose is a corporation that designs, develops, and sells audio equipment. A simple way of describing what the Bose Frames are is they are glasses and headphones all in one. They aren’t the typical headphones that go in or over your ear, they have small Bluetooth speakers at the end of each earpiece making it to where you aren’t completely cut off from the world. They are not bone-conducting, however, they would be perfect for people that love to listen to their music and who want to be aware of their surroundings. As of right now, they are a little bit pricey at $199.

    Oculus Quest

Next on the list is the Oculus Quest. Oculus is one of the leading manufacturers in VR technology and the Oculus Quest is an all in one gaming system that is built for VR gaming. It doesn’t require a phone, PC, or console. Everything from the controllers and the headset itself is completely wireless making the Quest really easy to play almost anywhere. There are 2 variants to choose from one being $399 with 64gb of storage and the other being $499 with 128gb of storage. The only drawback is it’s a closed-off design meaning that it will only run apps and games that are specifically designed for the Quest. This means that the only games you can play are the ones offered on the Oculus store.

    Moment Lenses

Moment is a Seattle Kickstarter startup that took add-on lenses to a whole new level. Using optic grade glass, they crafted premium add-on lenses (anamorphic, fisheye, tele, and wide) for smartphones that have real heft in your hand and are optimized to reduce distortion and increase contrast and clarity. They're mounted on phone cases, and OnePlus is one of the few brands they support in addition to Apple, Google, and Samsung. If you're serious about photography and don't want to carry around a dedicated camera system, check out Moment!

Are you a serious SciFi nerd? Waiting for The Singularity to happen? Elon Musk to the rescue with Neuralink, perhaps his most ambitious project yet. The goal is to meld mind and machine with a brain-computer interface just like we've been reading about in cyberpunk books like William Gibson's Neuromancer. If there was a waiting list for regular people, I'll bet many of us would be on it!

    Zoomable Contact Lenses

Many of us wear contact lenses. They're great. We don't have to worry about glasses falling off or getting broken, but what if you want to see something that’s closer or farther away than your corrective lenses allow? Enter this new concept from researchers at UCSD - zoomable Contact lenses. Blinking patterns determine how much the lenses zoom in on a subject, allowing you to examine minute details or see something far away in great detail. Better yet, they're trying to apply the tech to glasses, too. Sign us up!

I am a big nerd when it comes to anything technology related and I would love to hear about the new tech innovations you all have seen recently. Feel free to leave them in the comments below. Thanks!

Neuralink is the most exciting project for me. If it becomes successful, it'll singlehandedly propel us to the future. Too excited for this!!

Neuralink sounds like it has some real promise. Interested to see where this one goes in a few years.

Neuralink somehow reminds me of Anime Sword Art Online (SAO) if anyone gets that reference though you have to watch the anime a bit to get this. This is something which can be both awesome and extremely dangerous.

I am as well a cell phone enthusiast and electronics of all sorts.

My latest find was from Anker. It was their Eufy Cam W/ A. I. as I beta tested this product, even in beta mode it's been amazing to me. Some of the pros.

    - 365 day battery on one charge (if configured right)
    - local storage (16gb micro SD card included) w/ option of cloud storage.
    - night vision
    - wider view angle
    - magnetic base
    - weather proof
    - facial recognition
    - motion sensored ( ablilty to recognize the difference between objects vs. People.
    - alarm on cam and base.

Check it out it's definitely at a high price. But it's very very useful as many features are not in many top brands that are featured in this cam.
