Hey everyone! My name is Taylor, a business communications graduate from the University of Kansas. And I'm Kenny, a design student from San Francisco! And We're here today, as Brand Ambassadors for OnePlus to talk to you about our favorite ways to customize the OnePlus 7 Pro! Let’s first start off with Kenny talking about his setup.
The first and most visual way I could think of to customize the OnePlus 7 Pro is to change the theme, accent color, and wallpaper, etc. ; or literally any option under the Settings>Display. I love the dark theme; not only is it a recent trend (many apps and OS are adopting the dark theme), but it's also proving to be easier on the eyes and has battery conservation purposes!
Although my favorite color is Navy Blue, I decided with Mint Green as my accent color. However, I recommend using a slightly darker color since the light background of the tile icons from the notification bar is very vibrant with the white icons! A lighter accent color, on the other hand, will look great and more legible on the darker themed background.
My favorite wallpaper is the default blue background with that luscious paint pouring effect! The phenomenal animated-wallpaper paired with the 90 Hz refresh rate provides a buttery smooth animation! (That's literally how I impress some of my friends!)
Another form of customization would be the more tangible aspects such as cases and skins! To be quite honest, I feel as though the clear case that comes with the phone flaunts the breathtaking back (I have the Nebula Blue)! I generally don't have stickers on any of my tech, especially the OP7 Pro, because I love boasting that stock look and feel! However, don't let me hinder you from expressing who you are to others; flaunt those cases and skins!
Although I'm the type of guy who loves to keep the default settings, I do like having slight customizations whether it be on the gestures or even the visuals; and I could literally take up an hour or two of your time! So I'm just going to let my friend Taylor elaborate on how he customizes the OnePlus 7 Pro! Back to you bud!
Thanks, Kenny! I customize my OnePlus 7 Pro with a minimalistic and clean approach in mind. Like Kenny, one of the first things I did to change up the look was to switch the theme to dark and change the accent color to a bluish tone (#3d6ec9). I too think the dark theme can be very beneficial on the eyes and help preserve battery life; not to mention it looks cool.
My favorite launcher app to use is Nova Launcher by TeslaCoil Software in the play store. There is a free version, but I decided to buy the prime version, which is $4.99. This launcher gives me full customizability when setting my look for the home screen, app drawer, app folders, widgets, etc. I use a 5 x 4 desktop grid and keep my app icon size at 110%. The color I use for my app drawer and folder is the Pebble color (#263238). I also turned off the app folder titles on the home screen to keep a cleaner look.
I used the Pix UI Icon Pack 2 - Free Pixel Icon Pack by
rasolantltd@gmail.com for my icon customizability. This a free app to download in the play store and provides a pixel looking experience to your icons. The app supports around 6,910 great looking icons for your choosing.
For my wallpaper, I decided to go with a beautiful black and white mountain top wallpaper. This wallpaper is super clean, looks great, and doesn’t create a lot of noise when navigating through my home screen. Most of my wallpapers come from Backdrops - Wallpapers by Backdrops free in the play store. Their app has tons and tons of great looking wallpapers to support everyone's needs. In total, I only have four widgets on my desktop. My home screen has the “At a glance” widget, which can be found in the widgets menu by long-pressing the home screen and the google search bar widget at the top. I think the “At a glance” widget keeps my device looking stock while giving me the control to access information about the weather and upcoming events at a fingers touch. The google search bar is the same Pebble color that I used for my app drawer and folders (Nova Settings>Home screen>Search bar style>Bar color). The notes widget can be found on the left page of my home screen and calendar on the right. Waiting on dark themes for those widgets.
