It could be because of the yellow band at bottom of the screen, that they started to call it color (with yellow color) OS.

honestly, i would inform OnePlus(which u did) but wont necessarily try to get another unit or anything. the beauty of Android and OnePlus is there is no void in warranty if u flash anything on it. so doesnt make sense that u need to return or anything.

You should still be able to access the US bands even though it has ColorOS... just flash CM11S

try out color OS before you switch. you might like it. and the camera app is way better the CMs next cam or whatever its called

Good luck on that. One Plus hardware is among the best in the industry ... One Plus support is the worst in the industry. It's going to be a slow, plodding process, you'll need to stay on top of it and you'll be looking at 2-5 weeks before it is resolved. On top of that, they'll probably make you pay for return shipping, just to add insult to injury. I WISH this weren't true, I hope they prove me wrong on this. Rooting for you.
