been googling on this topic and kinda lost so they upgraded to usb c but eh no quick charge? from what i have read , Qualcomm Quick Charge requires compatible power controller and some upgrades on charger ...despite running on latest qualcomm it does not supports quick charge so still kinda lost what usb c is really for? can it still increase charging capacity ? i dont have any problem with this but still wanna know what it is for

It means bugger all to me, I have micro USB chargers and leads all over my house so I'd prefer to stay on micro USB for now (plus my OPO charges fast using them)

I get that it'll end up the standard but I'm in no rush at all.

I kinda have the same questions...It's almost a bit of an inconvenience (for now) cause its still in the infancy stage...guess when more tech items use it, it will seem less pointless lol

for me op didnt have to include this feature/option.
i would instead have liked quick charge feature instead of the "c"
    but thats just me.

And that's exactly why someone has to implement it. Progress happens only when someone does it. And a reversible plug is progress :D

well the industry is going to push towards type C as standard in the next few years. Oneplus trying to get ahead of the game no doubt.

Easier to connect than the old USB and theoretically able to transfer data at a higher speed as well as deliver more power. Would be nice to know if OnePlus 2 have these implemented already or will get it with some software update?

true that but if it supports fast charging that would be awesome !! and think that might increase transfer rate also (not sure abt it )

    It's reversible...

I think it is just OP trying to predict the direction the market will go in 2016. Whether or not companies will adopt USB C sooner rather than later is anyone's guess.

USB C does have the potential for faster data transfer and faster charging and is more hardy than standard USB, that's why the new macbook went with it.

The point of switching without actually using the hardware for faster charging or faster data is beyond me, it just feels like an empty gesture to try and be futuristic.
