An external DAC sounds like a great idea. It would probably be a much higher quality & feature rich than an in-phone DAC.

    Hi All,

    Any experiences with USB-C headphones?

I used several Headphones and it worked fine for

    Music
    Whatsapp Calls

However when I dial a number using the standad android caller app, the sound is really bad

Sounds like I'm in a bathroom
People can here themselves (no I don't put him on speaker)
When dialing I hear a strange sound between the beeps. (looks like he's interfering with something else within in the phone)

    Any comparable experiences?

I bought an Xiaomi MI ANC USB C-Type earphone.
It does not work, no sound comes through.
I tried the sound source and the MIDI setting, but there was no result. Disable bounce control on or off.
    What setting should it work?
Controls (volume, etc.) and noise filtering work, only the sound does not sound!
    Please help me!

With USB Audio Player Pro app work this device.
According to USB Host Check app, the USB Host is not enabled on the phone: android.hardware.usb.host.xml - OK, handheld_core_hardware.xml - USB host not enabled.
Only the app mentioned above can bypass this problem.

I did not read all the replies but if no one else said, do try the new noise cancelling earphones from Mi that works on usb c. Personally I have used the le2 cdla headphones, they are way better than any ordinary headphones but that thing was so flimpsy I broke it through 3 months of use. The mi earphones are getting good reviews and going by their technology it is bound to be a great cheap alternative.

1 ... If you are not a developer, stay out.
2 ... Have you tried this successfully yourself? Or are you just telling people to mess with hidden settings without a valid reason
3 ... The headphones are not a SOURCE of USB audio. They are the destination, called a SINK.

wow, what a stupid argument " if you are a not a developer stay out". its there in the phone, there is no problem if you know how to use it. The method works, I tried it myself, and its given as "audio source" by android settings itself. Dont be a jerk going around mocking people.
