USB OTG not working on OnePlus 5T (Sandisk dual Drive)

    bmyonatan, Feb 20, 2018 :
I have a 128gb Sandisk Dual Drive (a thumb drive that has both usb type A and usb type C). It worked perfectly on my old OnePlus 3T (I sold it so i don't have access to it anymore), but it just won't get recognized on my 5T. I enabled USB OTG Storage from the settings, but that didn't help. I had this problem both before and after the update to android oreo. Am running on OxygenOS v5.0.3.
Any help in resolving the matter would be appreciated.

Sounds like that the drive is a NTFS drive. Android won't read that..
you're better of with a FAT32 Formatted drive for android.
but if you're demanding to use NTFS. install total commander and this plugin to enable NTFS support. ES file explorer can do the same as i read the internet

Usb drives come with ~300kb of hidden files and folder. These are extremely crucial for oneplus5t to detect the usb drive. My assumption is that these files are backward compatibility related. These folders/ files are visible in es file explorer.
So if you have formatted your usb drive on Windows or any os in any format exfat ,fat 32 or NTFS .. rest assured that one plus 5t will not detect it.
So in future never format a usb drive.
