when I connect my op5 to my laptop using the dash cable and enable file transfer my laptop doesn't show a new device connected. it's win10 fyi. only indication of a new device is in the eject media area there is an option listed as "Qualcomm Hs-USB Diagnostics 900E"

some advice would be appreciated, thanks

Did you have an older OP phone before the OP5? If so uninstall the drivers for that phone and try to get the OP5 drivers to install.

yes I had a op3 that I had no problem connecting before the op5... how would I go about removing those drivers and then prompting the op5 drivers to be reinstalled?

Uninstall the drivers should be under programs on windows in the control panel. Then just plug the OP5 back in and it should start installing the drivers

been trying to uninstall the drivers for one of the Qualcomm Hs-USB Diagnostics 900e (COM3) which may not be the problematic one but I've got to go to bed so I'll try again tomorrow, thanks

It seems like other people are having similar issues. You probably got a reference phone and not the retail version. Can you go under Settings > About phone to check? You can also check by booting into recovery.

checking about phone, shows me information such as the phone's status, specs such as ram and storage, OS and serial number and regulatory info. I don't see anything about reference or retail

Unlock your phone whilst plugged in to PC, In your notifications panel it should say USB for charging, click on that and choose Transfer Files

who, the OP5?, seems like it. It's a perfectly normal scenario. an user with both phones trying to connect them independently to one PC... what's so d-bag in it? :)

I had the same problem and I solved it really easily : I restarted the phone and the PC, I activated the USB Debug mode on the Developer Options and set the Conectivity Mode on MTP Transfer Files, then I connected again the OP5 and it worked!

Dual SIM problem. When you're talking over the phone on one SIM the Sim 2 shows not reachable
