Verge threw a bombshell at OP

?

If those of you that have or are considering buying a OPX, is this a deal breaker?

    One thing people should realize is that the OPO had the same exact bands... It didn't have band 12 or 17 either... Now people, was the OPO still usable in the USA? Yes! Will the OPX still be usable despite the 12 and 17 band left out? Yes!

    2 things->
    a. OPO had Band 17, so this is untrue
    http://www.gsmarena.com/oneplus_one-6327.php
    b. Dropping Band 12 in OPX may have been the smart decision on OP's part. Helen confirmed they are still trying to get the Volte certification from T-Mobile for OP2....I understand this leaves them exposed to the possibility of a lawsuit (something about connecting to 911 calls http://www.androidpolice.com/2015/0...cked-smartphones-and-yep-its-still-confusing/)

    Someone was discussing maybe they can enable Band 12 in OPX through software after this Volte certification issue is resolved..

    Good old USA!! :rolleyes:..Always blazing it's own unique path...

    "In conclusion we’re looking at spotty coverage in some areas and great coverage in others, but overall you’re not going to be getting the absolute best in network coverage with LTE on T-Mobile US or AT&T with the OnePlus X. That doesn’t mean we’re not still going to recommend the phone though, and honestly with congestion less than ever on 3G networks the 3G HSPA coverage on either network will work just fine for most people, but expecting an LTE signal everywhere you’re going to get one with a more expensive phone just isn’t realistic here"

    fast 3G connections are often faster than bad LTE connection so in real life i prefer 3G, more reliable and less power consuming and voice everywhere without switching. other may have other prefs, just my 2 cents, LTE is overhyped in the meaning latest newest must be better while everyday usage often proofs otherwise. a race engine is better than a diesel but still not always better for everyday usage.

    The most informative post on this thread:
    So, unless you're with T-Mobile or want to use T-Mobile then there's really no reason to have a wobbly over this. And if you do then IMHO your problem is really with T-Mobile, not the handset manufacturers.

    Dear sir, I was not talking about OPX when I said that it was missing bands 2 and 4. I was talking about Xiaomi Mi4c which is a far superior phone at the same price point.

    I have tmobile and it's a huge issue for me when i'm inside buildings (especially that huge H&M store). I would lose signal in the mall when I'm in certain shop. The problem from what I heard is that Tmobile don't want any phone without VoLTE to have band 12 support since they use that for their VoLTE.
