Vertical Green Line On Oneplus 8T after Update May 5, 2022

My oneplus 8T has green line across the screen.
This happened after the Android 12 update where the phone would heat up while in normal use and the battery consumption was very high.
The phone was never dropped or was under pressure. Water never touched it so no water damage. As the display issue was due to the overheating of the phone from the new software update i believe oneplus should claim responsibility and replace the screen either for free of cost or for reduced prices as the amount for the display is too high compared to the current value of the phone.
As a lot of users have been affected by the same issue should i proceed to consumer court on this issue?

Update : Please contact the Regional GM of your location. I contacted them and my display was replaced free of charge.(out of warranty)
I suggest everyone do the same as soon as possible as they can only provide free replacement for a short period of time.
