Until now, I hadn't realized such a mount existed. Before even ordering my OPO, I had selected a visor mount (decent, but probably not ideal), which at least keeps it out of the hot sun while driving.

Not sure but if you can't find it sold under the Satechi brand name, do a search for ppyple. I've seen this same mount marketed under both brands.

    Hope this helps.

I made some search on my local Amazon (it) and I didn't find neither satechi nor ppyple version
Luckly I found Satechi version on Amazon uk and they ship to Italy :D

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Satechi-Universal-Smartphone-Slot-Mount/dp/B00D4ABOZS

Anyway, on Amazon IT I found a similar product from BrainWizz
    http://www.amazon.it/BrainWizz®-Player-Smartphone-smartphone-millimetri/dp/B00LB6ABLA/

Price is almost the same, but the Satech version looks better to my eyes

    Just a question:
Is the grip of the phone clip strong enough to allow the use of the phone in portrait without the risk of have the phone slip away? :D

I've driven around a couple times with it in portrait (because people asked this question) and haven't had any problems.

    Looks cool.
Have you tried mounting it in the other direction - vertically?
I have polarized driving sunglasses, so I would see dark screen all the time if I would mount it like that.

Ordered, thanks for the review! I was using the iOttie and it was a bit too snug with my Nillkin Case installed. I like the area in the middle of the console, no need to have it up on the dashboard.Great timing!!

Yep. And I can confirm that when you put the phone in portrait you can see it just fine with polarized glasses on. In landscape the screen is pure black.

So basically incompatibility between OnePlus one and Maui Jim's unless I turn my head to the side!

    Thanks again for the review!!

Yep lol. It would have been cool if they would have done circular polarization like the Amazon Fire phone but ... Maybe the next model.

My current pair are some Nike throwback 1990's shades and they aren't polarized so it doesn't impact me right now. I do have several polarized pairs but I've just gotten used to knowing when I have to go portrait and when I have to go landscape.

At least in my car the simplest nudge will trigger the sensor that thinks I've inserted a CD and switch to CD mode, then say no disc. And I have to manually switch back.
