Its not the solution. If your carrier doesn't provide application for Calling then you are screwed. And in case of emergency you can not depend on such app. It should be native support not a third party solution.

Yes, I know but all this hype is because of JIO and no other carrier will be going to provide VoLTE any sooner.

By the time Airtel start VoLTE service at Rs 1000/month you'll throw OpX in junk.

I really don't know why everyone is whining about voLTE, the only difference is a bit better quality in sound, so the "in case of emergency" argument is invalid cuz no one cares about the quality in case of an emergency. (I hope otherwise that would be really messed up)

You dont understand the thing and just throwing comments. First read " Jio 4G is 4G only carrier so if you have it then you must use VOLTE for voice calls. Your calls don't go through 2g/3g network."
They have provided app for the way out for manufacturer like OP but the app is not reliable.
Anyway i'm getting iphone 7 so leaving this forum and oneplus until they improve their service quality.

Its stable and reliable now, at least better than before. Argument is pretty simple It works only if Jio Network Data is on. So basically cannot connect with other carrier wifi/mobile data.

And why? Only because some shitty carrier in India supports VoLTE?
You can always call someone over the good old GSM network which - beside India - everyone uses around the world.
I'm always amazed that nearly half of the posts I read in this forum are about that shit whereas only 7% of sales are made in India. Cry hards at its best.

that isn't oneplus' fault they should just let you make calls over 2g and 3g

Jio4GVoice is not a permanent solution. If you turn off the data then you can't make or receive calls as Jio4GVoice would go offline but if you have native VoLTE then you don't have to worry about data being turned off or on.
Another thing is that I'm not sure that making voice calls through Jio4GVoice would cost me data charges or not...while on VoLTE, Reliance has clarified that they won't charge data on VoLTE voice calls.
I'm also not sure whether they treat Jio4GVoice calls as high priority data or not as they do in VoLTE, because I'm experiencing bad call quality as compared to my friend who has a VoLTE enabled phone.
I hope that Oneplus team is aware of these issues.

You be on Jio app or stock dialer of VoLTE supported device, to make VoLTE calls your data should be ON everytime.
