"screen repair" "screen replacement" "easy disassembly"

I decided to give back to the forum again by disassembling my phone myself and providing first hand documentation of it.

thanks to @vantt1 and @johhnybeil446 for teardown information.

thank you to the generous members of the forum who made this possible with donations in November.

I was not aware of the teardown tutorial by "OnePlus...eu" before I made my video.
Their video is fantastic: definitely way better quality than mine. However, they're trying to sell you way over priced stuff. I strongly suggest not going there to purchase anything. There are cheaper alternatives. Ali_Express and eBay have the best prices for everything.

    ---
*my original screen had deeper and richer colors. This replacement display has a pale brown/yellow tint on it. Blues are purples, reds are more pink, grays are brown, whites are light yellow. At max brightness, the colors are super overly satured and the wrong hue is much more pronounced. My capacitive keys do not light up, either. Icky display, but at least my phone works now.

*EDIT: the colors are 99% back to normal. So screen/image quality is just fine. Nothing to worry about at all.

I voided my warranty by disassembling it, yes. If I need a software fix, someone on the forum will provide it.

I get so nervous by watching this. I'm glad it worked though, good job. Pity that the display isn't as accurate though.

I was extremely nervous when doing it! Oh geeze it was terrible. I spent hours trying to do this. My camera kept dying and my family kept distracting me. I messed up 2 or 3 times. Since I made the video and spent so much time on this, I could do another disassembly in like 15-20 minutes easily.
