hello everyone. i want to tell you a little story of me trying to update from 5.1.1 to 5.1.2 with substratum theme on. the phone bricks and it's difficult to unbrick it without factory reset. so learn from my mistakes. DO NOT UPDATE WITH SUBSTRATUM ON. delete substratum, keep a backup of your data and then update. i waste 5 hours to set up my phone from the beginning and i lost some files.
( if you don't know what substratum is, then you are ok, if you want to learn more search the internet or ask me below in the comments)

This happened to me a couple of updates ago. It put my phone in a boot loop but lucky enough clearing the cache in recovery fixed the problem. You need to uninstall substratum and clear cache before installing the update to avoid the problem.

Yeah it saves a lot of problems. I was using substratum with Andromeda instead of through rooting. As you said some people have said only a full reset worked while others have been lucky enough to get past the boot loop by cleaning cache. I think people just need to be aware of the problem to save loosing data.
