No it doesn't. I travelled half an hour away to test out the 5g and when I got the 5g on 3 network I put another sim and both my own sim and my dad sim only picked up 4g.

Even though after getting 5g on my device the car was parked and with 2nd sim I didn't get 5g on both. But taking my sim out and leaving my dad sim also brought 5g on single sim.

Ill be going back there in Monday with my friend who is also on 3 and I'll try it again. I didn't stick around to do multiple test.

I tried the speed test and the speed weren't as good I thought they would be.

    Hi All,

So I got my OP8 yesterday moving from an OP3T and I'm loving it! However Three 5G is not working at the spots their coverage maps says. I checked with support and the first representative had the audacity to say 5G is not on mobile yet, only on broadband. Of course that's absolutely bollocks! The second one had to run some checks but couldn't find an issue, so they're forwarding me onto 2nd line support. It might be due to the fact that my SIM is 3+yrs old, but we'll see.... either way for everyone asking questions:
    • Three has 5G and it is supposed to work on any unlocked OP8/OP8pro (i.e. bought anywhere in the UK as long as it's not a cross-flashed US T-Mobile/Verizon single-SIM version), confirmed by Three support (and as reported by others in this thread)
    • For 5G to work, you will need to select it in your settings (should default)
    • Dual-SIM support for 5G is not possible yet (supposedly, this will come with an update: keep your promise OnePlus! This means you can either have 1 SIM in your phone and use 5G, or have 2 SIMs in your phone and deactivating the 2nd SIM when you want to use 5G.
In all honesty I'm not happy with the last point, I bought a dual-SIM phone to have private and work in one phone and I want 5G as 4G on Three is ridiculously slow. However for now this is not possible.

Any further updates on this? I have an 8 pro coming tomorrow from Amazon (24 hour sale posted on OnePlus Facebook page). I was planning on getting a sim only 5g plan from EE. So glad I saw this post because of covid was going to wait to get the 5g sim upgrade as not really needed. But obviously if I cannot get 5g functionality in the future this is a deal breaker. Anyone have a 8 pro or 8 purchased on Amazon using 5g successfully on a sim only plan?
