I've heard anecdotally about chargers for laptops with that huge brick in the middle of the charger being shrunk to the size of phone chargers. So maybe. It's the replacement of the silicon which is the difference.
Obviously we won't be seeing this in the next month or two, but maybe the next year or two.

Thanks for your insight. I suspect pretty much the same as you. It would be nice for an "official" answer but I doubt they will say it now. I just hope, like you, that the OP7 will come with 50 watt S-VOOC.

the way i understand it, OnePlus claims to "Never Settle"
yet OnePlus 6T users that bought their phones earlier indeed have to Settle with something that should have been included, not withheld for a special $700 edition

Correct me if I'm wrong. But, from what i gather the fast charge "car charger" should work with the McLaren edition phone without hurting it. Right? It would charge at the fast charge, not at the warp charge.

The question is, if it doesn't work as warp charger in the previous OnePlus 6T, then the warp charge technology is inside phone or the adapter?

The 30 in WARP CHARGE 30 refers to the time it is required to charge to 50%(?)..So a WARP CHARGE 50 would take 50 minutes to charge to same level - What is the benefit to that? It isn't a higher charge but a slower one, comparable to DASH CHARGE!

Will this feature be available for OnePlus 7?
Or will it be improved version of this one, with 40W charging like Huawei phones?

Why would they when they can entice some one to buy a new phone JUST BECAUSE it has a faster charging? But when you analyze it in practical terms, this new charger is only charging 20-30% faster. I have 20W car charger from eBay I got a year ago, a 10w (1 Amp) at the office, and the original one at home... I top off my phone in the car, and whenever I'm near an outlet...but there are days I don't "top it off" at all due to low usage and end the day at 60-70% battery power. If you get the McLaren warp charger, you won't be ablke to get a comparable "Warp" car charger and so far, you can't get a spare WARP charger for the office... So if you are going to depend on WARP charging, you have to carry around the WARP ( Brick) charger!

No, it stands for 30watt.. so 50watt would be even fasters. The original dash charger was 20watt :)

And we should never settle for the 3700mAh battery. we should demand a 4500mAh. And a 7" screen. Then on the next phone we're obligated to not settle for a 7" screen and 4500mAh battery and demand a 8" screen and a 5500mAh battery. Actually no, that's settling. Make it a 15000mAh battery with a 12" screen.

Have you ever heard of 'ignoratio elenchi' or the 'irrelevant conclusion fallacy'? You should look it up. You can't just make up your own definition of 'never settle' then apply it to situations it was not meant to apply.

    It won't be 40W.
Best bets are either Warp30 will be on the OP7 with the OP7T getting Warp50 (ie full S-VOOC).
Or hopefully the OP7 will be full Warp50. I can understand why they'd want to release it in stages to give purpose to future releases, but it's frustrating too knowing that Warp50 (S-VOOC) is already available and on sale for some OPPO handsets. Warp30 is not a different technology as far as i'm aware. It's S-VOOC (50W) which is artificially limited in software to max out at 30W maximum. In fact I would be willing to bet they could remove the 30W cap in the software for the McLaren phone if they wanted to and let it charge at 50W.
