If oneplus one gets lollipop update then nexus 5 and 6 buyers will shift to buy oneplus one so that Google purposely temporarily stopping the certification approval of our beloved lollipop update I think

    Hi guys,
I seriously don't mind if it takes you another two weeks or a month to release the update.
The important fact to me is: will the update improve the WiFi in terms of signal strength?

I have had a pleasant connection with any kind of mobile devices yet, but the OnePlus One's signal is so weak especially in the 5Ghz area...

    Greets from Germany,
    Sebastian

Is this a common problem, Sebastian? I am very keen on the phone, but work from home so need good WiFi.

    Hi cmdfreeman,
I'm sorry not to be able to answer your question. I guess depending on many variables (e.g. the hardware used, room architecture/wall materials etc) the strengt of the WiFi signal differs.
What I can say is that other mobile devices perform way better in comparison to the OnePlus One in my configuration which is kind of a "standard German setup" (WiFi Router: AVM Fritz!Box 7390).

We probably should "INVITE" OnePlus- Mods and Techs as well as other users for a statement...

    Best,
    Sebastian

I don't have a problem I get 2 bars of WiFi from my car park which is 40 meters away and through another apartment! However I use Asus with the 3 aerials over the box that come with my provider.

The best approach - root, custom recovery and flash a custom ROM. Will have 5.1.1 as soon as possible. Didn't Settle! When Oneplus finally gets the ROMs certified they will still be behind. Sounds like they are settling.

Actually they are not settling, they have to abide by Google's rules. Certification in and of itself is not too big of a deal but it is time consuming. As Google continues to grow I suspect things like this will take even longer.

Agreed, and especially with a major update such as 5.X

Even longer if Cyanogen's CEO keeps running his mouth about Google.
