dsmonteiro, Jun 28, 2019 : Hi everyone, I hope you had a week as exciting as mine. After more than 18 hours in transit, I safely arrived in Shenzhen to start preparing the reception for next week’s invasion. It’s always great to see the Community team again, but next week we’ll have even more friendly faces showing up in HQ. But, before that, let’s recap everything that went down this week! A new photography challenge for you Photography is one of if not the most active section in our Community. It’s home to some of the most passionate and knowledgeable users. This week, we decided to start a new series of challenges. Each Thursday, we will launch a new thread, focusing on a specific style of photography. For the first edition, we opted for a classic: black and white. We look forward to seeing the amazing pictures that you have to share. We were so impressed with the initial results that we just had to use @maarten_lisboa’s shot for this thread’s header. Also photography related, you can help to pick the winning photo from the Chicago Photowalk by voting here. Visits and more visits The office certainly is busy these days. Yesterday, 4 of the 5G Apps of Tomorrow winning teams visited us for some face to face time with Pete and a visit to the factory, as one of the several steps to turn their ideas into amazing 5G fueled apps. On Wednesday, we also announced another visit: the Global Moderators are on their way (some are already here) for our second Moderator meet-up ever. Next week will be action-packed and we can’t wait to share all the details with you. A whole lot of updates This week was also filled with software updates. OnePlus 7 received a new stable build, bringing June security patch as well as phone and camera improvements. Meanwhile, new open beta updates started rolling out to the OnePlus 5/5T and OnePlus 6/6T. Don’t forget to try the new features and provide your valuable feedback. Speaking of Beta builds, if you want to kick things up a notch, don’t miss the chance to apply for the 7 Series Closed Beta test here. I’ve heard that there is even a secret handshake for when you meet a fellow closed beta tester in the wild. And if you want an easier way to voice your opinion (that doesn’t involve a secret handshake), you can instead participate in the OnePlus 7 Series features survey that @Manu J. shared. The US Brand ambassadors are relentless. This week, they shared 6 great tips to improve your OnePlus 7 Pro's battery life, and also the second entry in the "Life of a Student with the OnePlus 7 Pro" series, this time about hardware. That's it for this week, but if you want to daydream a bit during the weekend, you can always daydream your perfect shopping list to pair with the Almond 7 Pro (and win some prizes in the process, if you're from NA). You can also join the Weekend Fun Time and try to guess movies just from small snippets! Whatever you do, have a great weekend!
