That's ok. I just feel frustrated that I'm unable to help with this kind of problem.

    Hi Amanda,

    Congrats on the new position.
    I only have 2 recommendations:
    1. OnePlus community was supposed to be about transparency and it is not anymore.
    2. Regarding the updates... never understood why you are not providing the links to the offline installation (zip) for users that wants to update, even though there is the risk of a critical but to affect how the phone is running. (on their own risks). I know what a stage update is, but I really don't understand the use case here, so please don't answer: because it's a stage update and we care about our users. If we can update via Oxygen updater (not the official way to do it), why not just perform a simple local update but with the official package?
So please, if you are telling the truth that the update is staged just because you want to make sure there are no critical bugs, provide the zip files.
Technical speaking, is there any difference between the local update and OTA except the way you get it? I guess not, so again I don't see the reason not to separately provide the update files to let the user decide to install or not install in this stage.
But if this update is in fact a beta that you want to test it against some users only... name it this way.

Wish you good luck on the new position and remember that OnePlus slogan is Never Settle!
