Weird touch issue in OnePlus 8T Jan 10, 2022

    I started noticing this issue today. Whenever I type in portrait mode, some letters never get registered. Letters like m and k. Also, I use gestures. So the right side does not work even though I swipe properly from the right. But if I type in landscape mode, the keyboard works properly. Due to this, I can't type anything now. I've reset my phone, and the problem still continues.

    What happens when you disable the gestures?
    Did you also try another keyboard app?
    What about trying it in safe mode?
    What OxygenOS version are you using?

    I am facing similar issue, Right side edge touch top to bottom stopped working after 14 months, and at one year battery problem solved. Most 8T has facing similar problem. Anyway to fix the problem?

    Adjusting the keyboard size helps typing BUT SEND key is on right side where touch is not responding area. Is it a hardware or software problem? Any solution

    The edge of the screen of the 8T doesn't respond to my touch as seen in the video, all 8T models are having the same issue, I believe it is a system bug that has been there and unfixed since the first date of its release, andn alot of users posted complains about it,

    Seems like some bug to me or could be due to some conflict or compatibility issues due to specific apps as well as mine is working perfectly fine.

    I have been using gesture control since almost a year now and just cross checked all the corners to be double sure and didn't find any difference or lag in touch sensitivity at all.

    To add, I always have used the original OnePlus tempered glass which covers all the corners compared with the 3rd party options available in the market and to my opinion (not really sure though) that might have helped to retain the corners touch sensitivity of screen over the time from normal wear and tear.

    But to be really frank, it could be just my obsession talking all these as well as I have even only used the original OnePlus back cover too 😜

    This is my First and Last Oneplus Device in my Life and those people I know...... Worst experience ever. About one year period battery and display folder damaged even if I have used it carefully...

    Anyway due this SPECIAL FEATURE the device 8T become useless. After reset/reinstall software the problem remains. Then how can we say it as a special feature. I think replacing the display folder will solve the problem OR discard the phone and buy a new brand phone to use....
