    1. Foolishness to say that common sense will save you. Virus are made by huge experts. Fools don't know that.
    2. No person can Identify a Virus attack via software. It's hardly possible to tell that a website is not weird or bad.
    3. Banking procedures always recommend for good antivirus protection.
    4. How will you identify an App as safe, at least without installing it ?

Personally I use Norton for many years, 3 years with Android. I tried many on Android, there may be many better options, but I recommend from my experience, Norton is simplest and safer than Kaspersky, Avast, AVG and McAfee.

that school of thought applies to any device. It's just that common sense is not so common and people tend to have moments where they stop thinking.

I always do wire transfers or have my card detail stored on my phone and a couple of websites too... I am totally safe about it..... The only fear for me is to loose my phone but that shouldn't be a problem as android device manager helps to clean wipe your device.

The reports of android being affected by malware and virus are greatly exaggerated.

Agreed. However if thief remove the sim as soon as it is stolen, would you be able to erase through android device manager? What do you feel?

Definetly. That is a problem. Its matter of how fast im am..... But I guess this is one place where android lags seriously behind iOS.

This is android, you don't need protection unless you visit malicious sites. Lollipop tightens the security even more, so why wasting resources on the phone?

The best antivirus for all Android devices is "YOU".
Do not take apps outside Playstore, unless you are really sure
Do not browse dubious and malicious websites
Pay attention on what you click on emails

If "YOU" is not enough try upgrading to "YOU" ver 2.0.0...I hope you get my point here...

I have installed cm security, I normally would not do this, but I read about a new virus called broadanywhere, that is pretty dangerous, and that 99% of android phones have it. Done a scan, and sure enough I had it.
