NO. Actually in the recent versions of Android you can't install apps on external storage.

You can use USB OTG and a thumb drive as external storage, however to do anything that you could do with a micro-SD card. If you really love those micro SD cards, get a micro SD to USB adapter and plug it into your USB OTG. Now you have micro SD support on your OPO.

with USB OTG u can connect any usb device like pen drive, keyboard, mouse, gaming controller.
you can play music or movies from pen drive, it is a great feature to have. installing app on a memory stick connected with usb otg is not a wise thing to do.

So all the functions of an internal sd card slot would work as normal? Would I be able to see it in all normal file explorers?

Yes you can add a Dual USB dongle. I bought a SanDisk unit it works great on the ONE. See Amazon and Google play for the App.
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb...=sandisk dual 32&sprefix=Sandisk dual,aps,219

    It's available in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB

Yes it works fine . You need to download SanDisk Memory Zone from Google Play.
I load all my music on the Dual and play music when I don't have WiFi available.
One side has a USB and I use it to download music or files/video from my desktop and play or transfer to my ONE
Note, Transcend have similar units and cheaper but they are smaller and some reviews state that they heat up after longer video use.

yes you can, but speed limit would be a bummer. However, you can use your USB flash drive to store data for less burden on internal storage

I have just noticed that you are referring to an LG G2
You will have to check on the SanDisk web site since some G2 models don't work.
    Not like the One.
Apparently not all Apps allow internal SD or external storage. You need to check.
I only use the Dual for files, music and video

I haven't thought of that. So can you save and read backups while in TWRP recovery? Very cool if so!

How do you read files from your usb stick with an OTG? I just received mine but I have no clue where to find the path or files.
