I turned on my phone and it showed safe mode. Only a few apps, I could access. Can anyone say what this was? I rebooted the phone and it went away.

Safe mode is found in many OS, it allows you to use and test the OS without any 3rd party application installed. It can be useful to check whether an app or the OS which is causing a problem

    OnePlus Safe Mode

    Power Down the OnePlus Device.

Hold the Power Button Until Android Starts to Boot Up.

As Soon as Android Starts Booting Up, Let Go of the Power Button.

Then Immediately Start Holding Both the Volume Up and Volume Down Buttons.

Continue Holding Both Volume Buttons Until Android is Fully Booted.

So this feature is in all other OnePlus Devices so don't worry you accidentally entered into the safe mode.[e]1f60a[/e]

how to get out of safe mode ?

just press and hold power button and press reboot ... this time the device will restart normally and you will have all your installed apps with you back

How to turn on Safe Mode on OnePlus 3:

    Turn “OFF” the OnePlus 3.

Press and hold the Power/Lock button at the same time until you see the “OnePlus 3″ logo.

When the logo shows up, immediately hold the Volume Down button, while releasing the Power button.

Keep holding the Volume Down until your phone finishes rebooting.

That's overly complicated, versus hold power off logo and select safe mode, don't you think.

BTW your inability to edit a post is because you're using the shitty community app, try accessing the forum via a Web browser and you'll be good.

So my speakers weren't working well even though the volume levels were full and I tried restarting the phone. That put it in safe mode and I tried all of the above but I still can't seem to disable it. Any other suggestions?

Update: My volume buttons aren't working now. I can also hear random notification sounds from time to time.

Try this, just hold down the power button until the device hard reboots. It should now be out of safe mode.

If it's still in safe mode, you could have a volume button that's getting stuck during bootup, causing it to go into safe mode.
