I should be very easy for Oneplus to verify but people are right to doubt this as it hasn’t been verified by OnePlus yet.

I noticed you’re from the Netherlands or Belgium and you’ve got the international version. You might want to answer @dsmonteiro ‘s question about the model. Number. It’s below the build number.:)

Hello Bobby, thanks for the answer.

I forgot to post a printscreen of the model_number.
My model-number is IN2023. Where 'IN' stands for 'International' i guess.

    I have the same questions - I'm on a OnePlus 8 Pro
    Android Version 11
    Build number: 11.0.4.4.IN11AA
    Model: IN2023

I spoke to OnePlus support on Twitter and they said there is a legitimate update for 11.0.5.5, but I should NOT update my device while they look into the push notification reading 19811R_MP5.

Hopefully we can get an answer on here soon?

I'll tap it next time it appears. It just doesn't look like a typical OP update notification so I've been leary to do anything except clear it out of my notifications.

In the past, there has been a much longer string. This one just looks suspect to me.

I'll try it next time and attach a screenshot.
    Thanks!

Exactly. The strings/names looked very different the past three years of having Oneplus. That's the reason why i didn't tap the notification itself too. I'm interested what you get to see when you tap it.

I get that, but both parts of the string are valid internal software references. 19811R is the model number and MP5 is is how the build is internally referred to.

For anyone still checking this - I just got a push notification with the correct update string. It listed the correct version update. Looks like the tech team sorted the issue.
