What is wrong with the OnePlus 2?

I just don't understand. The Nexus 6p and the OPT have almost identical specs, but the 6p is sooo much smoother and faster than the OPT. I have tried every ROM / Kernel, and I either have good performance with 2 hr SOT and extreme overheating, or mediocre battery and poor performance. Is this purely software related? Because if it is, then I can deal with waiting until everything is optimized perfectly. Or is it hardware related somehow.

    Thanks

also the 6p has code that makes it faster on purpose... because google can its a nexus
and the 6p is known to be faster then any other phone sn810 and lower.

Yes but like I said I've tried all mainstream Roms (Exodus grarak cm13 oos 3 h2os ressremix) and none of them seem as fast as the 6p

that's because they don't actually use the marshmallow code from oxygen os 3.0 they still use a 5.1.1 foundation.

Ive only been on stock rom always, but I feel its not optimized properly. . . feels like software issue. on some rare days, it seems to perform pretty decently.

My OnePlus 2 is most likely going to be the last OnePlus device I'll ever use. I've purchased two OnePlus One's and a OnePlus 2.
In my experience nothing even comes close enough to compare to a stock Nexus. I think it's worth the extra money considering the fact that you get killer quality, reliability, and quick and painless phone replacements if yours ever go's wrong :)

So yes in short: ALL ONEPLUS ROMS ARE SLOW AND SLUGGISH OR CONSTANTLY LAG.

Now you got me considering selling mine to get a 6p!

i dont know how do you measure, but that statement is not so true.. Except for fps, my opt (oos221 + boeffla kernel) is as fast and smooth as 6p regarding daily use and common tasks; and even a lot more powerful in benchmarks as antutu, where i easily hit more than 90k (6p scores are around 80k).

another clear exaggeration. The only phone that fits that description of "stock killer quality for a lot of extra money", is iphone.
I'm a fan of Android who never had an iPhone. But i have had Nexus, and even stock Google Android releases are still far from being a solid piece of software.
iPhone achieves more killing smoothness than Nexus, with half hardware.
If you want to pay a lot of extra money for an hyper premium out of the box phone, go to Apple. Nexus is not such a marvelous device. And definitely No more than our opt.

The only reason I havent sold my OPT for a moto x pure is because I'm just hoping that one day.... ONE day oneplus or some 3rd party dev can finally work out the software issues.

Nothing's wrong with the OPT. Install H2OS, the Marshmallow ROM, and it's as smooth as any Nexus. The difference is incredible and it's like a new phone.

cm13 by garak + boeffla kernel does the job for me.
also liked h2OS a lot, but i am not a fan of that iOS look.

there is no best set up for all, everybody uses his/her phone differently.
try some roms and kernels for yourself and decide which suits u best.
