My 6T is now experiencing screen burn-in and my extended warranty is expiring this week. Which device should I upgrade to? Doesn't necessarily have to be a OnePlus.

It depends what you want to do with your phone? Are you looking to play graphics intensive games? Are you looking to use it for photography? Do you just want it to be a phone and for the occasional web browsing/emails? Without additional context it would be hard to say and how much do you want to spend as well as how long do you expect to keep your phone?

If that's all you are searching for in a phone, Nord is good enough for you. But given the fact that you have been using one of the flagship of Oneplus all this time, you might wanna take a look at 8T. The choice is yours.

Thank you for the suggestion. I'm not in a rush. My extended warranty with Upsie is expiring soon and my 6T is now experiencing screen burn in all of the sudden. So I am just weighing my options.

The Galaxy notes are nice but I'm not sure if the price jump is worth it over OnePlus.

    There are 2 versions...

    The s20 fe (4G) and the s20 fe 5G.

I specifically mentioned the 5G because it's the better model as it has the snapdragon 865 as opposed to the awful exynos 990 in the 4G version.

So based on the specs for the OnePlus 6T you want at least a 6.41" screen, 20MP camera or better, 8GB RAM and 256GB of storage of better and 3700 mAh battery and processor performance of Snapdragon 845 or better. But you
still did not mention what price range. In any case I will make the assumption you are only looking for Android replacements, which eliminates any Apple iphones. So that still leaves quite you still plenty of android phone options:

Samsung, LG, Motorola, OnePlus, Xiaomi, Umidigi, ASUS all have models that match or exceed the above specs at price points similar to or lower then the initial price point of the OnePlus 6T.

It's a good idea that you are gathering info and considering what are your options. I think you have gotten a few already. IMO look at your needs, price point, and what you like with hardware and software.

you mentioned that you don't want to downgrade screen size and internals and not in a rush. I'd suggest waiting to see what happens in early this year with the 9 series. Rumour look interesting imo. If you need to have something right away, the 8pro price is lower and has good camera (some say better than 8T) and 120Hz screen. If you want something newer, the 8T has increased screen and cpu as compared to 6T and good cameras. It is a good option. There are lots of android manufacturers but if you want a smooth OS, then I'd suggest sticking with OnePlus.

Thank you for understanding. I've been happy with my 6T up until recently when the screen seems to have burn in from Firefox.

What have you heard about the 9?

6 and 6T are great phones. Even after almost 3 yes later, the 6 holds good.

As for the 9 series, I've only seen rumours on YouTube. There are several videos. I don't want to promote misinformation (and I don't have any information and will find out on release ) and can't say what is real but there are several recurring themes. Those look interesting and in my opinion, looking forward seeing it being released.

I'll be honest I've looked at Samsung and Apple but I think it's awfully cocky of them not to recognize OnePlus phones for trade ins.

I'd have to agree. Those are big names and I'm sure you can find advantages in them. Personally I purposely avoid both of them from personal experiences and preferences. There are lots of options out there. Hence, it is important to know what you want to use it for, what you absolutely want and what is just extra or missing.

The first and only apple device I've ever owned was the iphone 5 and I went through multiple batteries in a short span of time. I switched to a Google Nexus 6P which had a really good camera for it's time compared to the iphone 5 butttt the battery crapped the bed and it made me miss the support Apple would give you. "Walk around the mall for a bit while we work on your phone" or "this is going to need to be shipped out but here is a LOANER PHONE." Google/Huawei wanted me to send my phone to Asia (I'm from the US) and told me to buy a cheap at&t go phone prepay phone and use my sim card with it while I wait for my phone.

So then I moved onto OnePlus 6T and the battery has held up like it came out of the box. But now I have screen burn in or a ghosting from what appears to be Firefox. Not really sure how that happened. My warranty with Upsie is up and now I think it's time for a change.

The screen issue has me a little timid with buying another OnePlus but I know I'm running the pool shallow by being ultra picky.
