What Purpose Does OnePlus Community (forums) Really Serve?

    I am very sorry. I am currently offline. Whilst this community means a lot to me, real life always comes first.

    I have replied because I didn't want you to think I was deliberately ignoring.

    What I will say is that @SJBoss forgot to mention the 2nd data breach that happened https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/security-notification.1144088/ I was also affected by that. Typical, only does 99% of the work :rolleyes:

    To address what you asked, I don't think you can make the forums what they were when I joined. It was a different community then. We had a shared purpose (invite for OPO and then invite sharing). The old chat threads still carry some of the old charm, but people move on. The community has grown in terms of numbers and I guess newer users may view the forum differently than us "old timers" do. We need to evolve with the forum.

    Instead of looking back at what once was, why not present workable ideas to make the forum more workable for all?

    Anyways, I will leave this here and check in when I can

    That and a few more it was one of very few issues that OnePlus addressed. It was also one of the worst kind indeed.
    The thread isn't about nostalgia train... Neither I want it to turn back to how it used to be in the old times, that's neither practical nor possible. Just want to know what OnePlus learnt from all the fcuk ups? And the answers is... nothing.
    This might be the last thread you'll ever see from me anyway. And unlike you guys once I'm gone... I'm gone.

    So true 👍. Frankly speaking one week ago I had a desire to do sth similar, half baked it, but I lowered my hands.

    And now regarding "oopsies". OnePlus always used misleading or half true marketing decisions:
    • Like telling fairy tales of Fortnite in 90 fps, but later turned out to be on super low graphics and resolution, constant frame drop and other issues... Or recent story about plastic frame, marketed as "made of premium materials". And I already remeber several dozens of such shitty stories.
    BUT!!! You'll like it.

    Sometimes OnePlus hid its own dirt under carpet, so that it wasn't used later against them. Some of those cases I'm no more able to prove, however there's one I especially enjoy, a breathtaking fact :rolleyes: One year ago when company advertised 7 Pro, it released videos, where it did mock any other smartphone having notch, drop or anything disturbing the full screen experience. Now OnePlus releases smartphones with punch hole (8 Pro) and double punch hole (Nord), where sth is probably ruing the interface and daily usage. And guess what they did? They hid those videos on their own YouTube channel.

    It never happened, we didn't say such things :p:cool::p. Later lots of threads were created on how appealing our display were, lol. OnePlus backed down and dug its head into sand. Just take a look :D:D:D
