If you can afford it , I'd suggest you get the Note 5 then.

That sd810 you're talking about was when HTC one used it. Op2 and nexus 6p has the revised versions of the soc. Which actually uses all the 8 cores to full potential.
And I haven't seen my op2 throttling even once till now. And I'm a heavy user.
In fact I think I've seen 808 on mxp throttling while playing simple games like asphalt 8.

That's oneplus' marketing strategy. And I hate oneplus as much as I love op2. I like to think op2 as a community's phone rather than a company's phone.

@Daniel.Coupland check out a few reviews and then take a decision.

The OP2 isn't a bad phone at all. The only comparable phone would be a G4

But there's better phones out there and you can apparently afford to get something better.

ZUK Z1, upcoming Redmi Note 2 Pro is leaked to have a fingerprint sensor, maybe Mate8 (but that is like $500 US), upcoming Vivo phones, I guess.

He already said he can afford to get a Note 5 or a Nexus 6P.

What'd you say to that ??

Not in Canada. The G4 will set you back about $700 + tax. I got my OPT for $575 all in. All funds in CAD. BTW, I got both phones, and the G4 is the better phone. My OPT is the daily driver though. The wife uses the G4.

If you can get the G4 for the same price as the OPT, I would spring for the G4. The camera blows everything short of a Galaxy S6 out of the water, and the screen is MINT. LG knows how to make screens. Add to that the NFC that people were so butt-hurt about, removable battery AND storage...plus some variants have Qi wireless charging capability...and you got yourself one hell of a flagship.
