Good grainy wood teamed up with some brushed aluminium. Nothing gets more premium for me.

LOL! If the phone business doesn't work out, you ought to consider humor :D. I'm still a big fan of Sandstone:oops:. Then, maybe, aluminium.

The sandstone back on the Oneplus phones is cool but wears out really quick. I have a bamboo cover on both my One and Two. The bamboo feels really premium and makes the phone look super classy.

LOLLL! Actually, yes I voted ceramic, but I am too lazy sometimes (read often) to write some details. Ceramic might be a good material, but as long as is not slippery. This is why aluminum is going home. Way too slippery in any nowadays phone. Sandstone - good grip, bad durability, it is going home too. (Who says buy a case - please shut up!)

I will always go for a Motorola's back plastic instead of aluminum or sandstone just because it has grip and it's durable. Frankly I miss the stainless steel from my Nokia E71. It was perfect, a good, solid piece of textured metal! The kevlar on my Moto Droid Razr was quite good, but again E71's stainless steel was a piece of art.

Probably swapable back covers are the best option (aka OP2, Moto), but probably most of users just don't care about this and this why Samsung managed to sell millions of soap dish design and plastic phones (aka the Galaxy 1, 3, 4 and their versions).

OP2 maybe more powerful but OP X looks more beautiful :).

I would love to see OP X type of back cover for my OP 2.

Build quality matters more than materials. But as far as materials go, I like aluminum, but you can't replace it during the lifespan of the phone. You can do that with things like plastic though. But I like aluminum so mucchhhhhh...........
