what's the longest the OTA update can take to reach us?

    ...still waiting for the OTA. Hopefully with the rectified battery life bug.

    Any idea what the longest wait might take?

    With my previous Nexus devices, I've seen a delay of up to 3 weeks, from official release to OTA update.

    It depends on your Internet connection speed. Do you have any firewalls installed? Does your country of origin allow update traffic or do they block it? Might have to go thru a proxy.

    Mate seriously,
    Just download it by yourself (there are plenty of threads with the link to download the OTA update) and apply it using CM recovery. That's what I did and I'm glad of it since I may be still waiting if not.
    It's all done using the official signed OTA update and the recovery comes straight from CM.
    No data wipe. Everything exactly the same as how it'd be via OTA.

    EDIT: What battery issue? I've had COS12 for a few days and my battery life actually improved respect CM11S. I don't find any problem with battery drain at all...
