Dude we are not talking about DSLR's we are talking about a point and shoot.
I saw a video where Youtubers commented off record that the pictures they saw at the launch event were in manual mode.

I'm honestly a little tired of people repeatedly posting these new threads complaining about a great camera. More than half of the people here in this thread don't have the phone. Also, DxOMark's review was based on a firmware update that is being rolled out now. DxOMark stated this in their review too. Here are some unedited photos I shot in auto mode after the update: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1Cy71h0T5XHsKhKSWAPlKuqy8k7KfIN_l

Well, it's not only OP who does that because if you want to squeeze every possible pixel out of your phone's camera, you need to manually adjust every details hence why the good looking photos at the launch.

Happy to see you again and I agree, too much fuss over the damn camera. I seriously think Oneplus should have put the most expensive sensor on the phone and give it a price of 1.5k$; would've liked to see them all complain how they don't need an expensive camera...

Btw i distribuited your photos around here, hope it calms a few down and hope I can upload some too when my device arrives. :D

All these people who've been constantly whining about the shitty camera are not using a smartphone for the first time. I own a Nexus 6 (released in 2014) and it always had me in confidence that whatever crap I'd shoot, will come out to be Great. Having said that, I want the camera quality of my new smartphone for which I have invested a handsome amount of savings to be better than my existing phone or atleast, equivalent.

Can you agree that such a simple thing as take a picture on your smartphone can be done wrong by many people?

If it's a point and shoot why does it have manual...

    Erm.. ?

Don't DSRLs also have point and shoot modes...?

    I'm confused....

I'll keep adding photos as time goes on, and thanks for helping to spread these around to show that the camera is actually excellent after the update.

I'm just stating my opinion and let the record show that I'm not a photographer but I often do it in my spare time.

DSLR's are not packed with an OS and a bunch of other stuff in a tiny space so you can't really compare 3 small sensors and their lens with a DSLR like Canon or Nikon or any other one.

What could go wrong while taking a picture? You are trying to capture a canvas where the sun is rising and the wide angle camera makes it look like a street light bulb glowing. People are gonna get infuriated by such quality and hence, these threads...

Actually DSLRs are quite complicated beasts and I would argue have a lot more going on internally in a delicate balancing act than a smartphone.

They all have an OS they are running that receive firmware updates, they have complicated mirror systems inside them with moving parts that can and do impact image quality, they all have CPUs in them to process photos, most modern ones have wifi and Bluetooth, the have flashes, large touch screens, a plethora of buttons and so on.
